A very insightful article from @FT on the Russian technocrates and how they saved the economy: Spoiler: Gref, the chief of Sberbank, is into metaverse now. Probably the only place where he feels like he can still cherish his dreams... Ironic

@Jennife88549516 Yes, the market is open and it's still good. If you live in the USA I'd recommend to take a direct flight to Russia, so you don't get into trouble traveling. Aeroflot has low rates for direct flights.

@brucekornfeld The official document link is in the article. Plus this knowledge is based on our experience. They simply won't let you enter the country if you don't fly directly from the US.

@synaxaristis The visa support takes about 1 day to be issued, then you need to bring it to the visa center to apply for the visa. The visa will usually be delivered within 10 days.

@Infectedsystem1 Yes, but you need special permission, such as #loveisnottourism (for Germany) or a business reason for other countries.

@stephie87085642 i understand! no info on that yet, but i expect that they should open it by the end of summer. probably in september or so. i'd look at the vaccination rate and once it reaches about 50% in the us and / or russia, i think they'll open the borders.

@DyffedTywysog If your wife is Russian, she can make you a private visa as a family member and then, yes, you can travel to Russia.

@perevod1 Yes I think there is no limit on that although obviously if you start coming more often it will be more practical for you to get a longterm business visa as you don't have to reapply every time and that will also avoid the suspicion of the border control who might wonder whats up

@Infectedsystem1 If they open the borders and make it possible to travel for tourists, then yes. You'll still need a visa but you'll be able to apply electronically:
