Sometimes it just takes cooler heads to come to an agreement. With that I am happy to pronounce. Viva la Steetery!! Big thanks to many folks including the amazing folks at
@DDOTDC
that found a way to squeeze the Jersey barriers in for the next few days. Communication is key.
We were asked to follow the science. We did. We have assisted all our employees in getting vaccinated if they needed help. While some may still feel comfortable wearing a mask, we will follow CDC guidelines and welcome back unmasked vaccinated guests.
The Washington Nationals have a winning record for the first time since July 2021. We’re celebrating with cheap shots of Rumplemintz for that minty fresh feeling!
Happy 3rd WorldSeriesversery to all those who celebrate. 100% of the reason Walters is still here today is due to that magical month. We would not have survived the pandemic without that business. 2019
@Nationals
Thank You.
I'm hearing stories of absolutely horrendous guest behavior at bars directed towards service staff. Including belittling staff for wearing masks, and guests coughing intentionally on them. Definitely not itching to get back to the service industry....
When you show up to your favorite restaurant on May 21 thinking everything will be back to normal. It won’t. Most places are drastically understaffed, that will take time to fix. Not trying to rain on a good day, happy we’re in this position, but there’s a lot of work to do.
After a long long long month we will be closed today to allow our staff a chance to celebrate the World Series and get some rest. We will be back at it tomorrow at 11am.
#Cheers
As the preeminent 🏏 bar in DC, (following the sport since last Thursday), we will be open at 10:30 on Wednesday to support the US Cricket team as they take on juggernaut India.
2 years ago today on the cusp of St Patricks Day and March Madness all DC Bars and Restaurants were forced to close. We’ve come through such a terrible time, not having any idea what the next day may bring. Hats off to everyone in our industry that made it through.
Hired a small business to help me set up a Google ads campaign to try and increase lunch business. After a week, campaign doesn’t seem to be helping. Upon further review targeting people in the wrong Washington could be the issue.

In the “better late than never news” we finally received official approval from
@MLB
to show Game 7 tonight. No cover, No tickets, No trash can banging for off speed pitches.
People want to say DC doesn’t have real baseball fans, meanwhile there are hundreds of people waiting to get into a
@Nationals
season ticket holder event on the last Sunday in October at 9:30 am.
Tonight we hosted 4 different people who will be sworn into tomorrow congress tomorrow. Everyone had a great time, laughed, bought beers for each other and watched football. Evidently tomorrow they will start to fight. Maybe Congress should be in a bar. 🤷🏻♂️
World Series Champion Gerardo Parra will kick off 2023 Opening Day celebrations on March 30 by leading the World-Famous Budweiser Clydesdales on a parade around Washington, DC’s Navy Yard neighborhood.

Pro tip. 40,000 folks are projected to be at the park for the game tomorrow. You’re probably not going to walk into a restaurant in Navy Yard at 6:30 and get a seat. Plan ahead.
Pro tip. 65k+ folks are projected to be descending upon Navy Yard between
@dcunited
and
@Nationals
games today.
1. Come early, lots to see and do around the ballpark
2. Cash makes most things faster
3. It’s a marathon not a sprint. Drink accordingly.
If you’re dining out with friends do a quick count at the table. If you count more than 6, you’re doing it wrong. Please don’t make service staff be the bad guy. We got below 2 dozen positive cases this week. Let’s keep it up!

There are easily 2-3 places better than Walters to stop by for coffee if your coming to the Nats team store this morning. Mom didn’t raise a quitter though so we’re here to talk Baseball and final 4 if you want to swing by.
Last game of the year at Nats park. It’s been a huge pleasure again this year to host so many
@Nationals
fans. We’re hosting an end of year party with
@Nats_Chat
October 13th. Should be a lot of fun.
🚨🚨🚨 Breaking News🚨🚨🚨
We are pleased to announce
@RayKnight25
will be broadcasting for
@team980
live from Walters. Come say hello!
4pm-7pm Steve Czaban and Scott Linn
7pm-8pm Ray Knight and Scott Jackson
It’s going to be awkward for a bit but we’ll get used to seeing people’s faces once again. We encourage you to feel comfortable wearing a mask if you choose. The decision is up to you and we support everyone’s personal choice. We’re 1 step closer to “normal”.
Thanks for Barsplaining us. We thought spending 20K to bring heat lamps and TVs outdoors for sports watching would be appreciated. The beauty of not liking a bars policy is that you are free to choose another venue to watch sports outside.
I know a lot of you aren’t big Corbin fans, but allow me to dream of 2019 Corbin, 2019 Stras, Gray, Cavali and parades along Constitution Avenue on this dreary Wednesday afternoon. Patty Ice looked good.
On Monday December 28th Walters will launch “Family Meal”, our effort to help our extended restaurant family over the next few weeks. Starting the 28th, and continuing each Monday while indoor dining is closed we will be providing a free lunch for impacted restaurant workers.
We will re-open this weekend for outdoor dining. We will not be doing reservations. We will not be doing brunch. We will go 1-0 each day to the best of our ability in this weird strange new world. Bring a raincoat. More guidance to come.
Sorry to hear the news about Gordon Biersch Navy Yard closing. We’ll be hiring starting next week if anyone is looking for a job. Swing by and let’s chat.
We want 40,000 fans in Nats park, but the goal of a pandemic seems to be to do whatever you can to keep your people from getting sick. Only 7 “states” have a lower per 100K rate than
#DC
. Being cautious has worked. We’ll all get to Nats park soon. 5K > 0
