Using the term ‘defeat’ for the prophet ﷺ is highly inappropriate. The prophet ﷺ never failed in any endeavor, what outwardly seemed as “defeat” was in fact victory and a redirecting of affairs.
Failure is unavoidable. Even the prophet (peace be upon him) faced loss, defeat and difficulty.

Advice to my sisters: When you or your family are looking into a marriage prospect’s history, try your best to ask the women in his age group from his community about him. Women from his school, masjid, anywhere. If the best you can get is “I don’t know,” you should keep looking.
