I keep saying it. The Disney animation house-style has to change. All these movies just *look* the same. Especially the character design. They need a variety of animation styles, and characters that don’t look interchangeable with just different hairstyles and skin color.

So what do people want from Disney? Every single movie seems to be struggling at the box office even if it is a high quality. Is it because of Disney+ or does the right-wing political aisle just hate Disney now?

Demand “softened” because Disney chased a LARGE portion of their audience away with price hikes, nickel and diming, needless complication, and a decrease in the overall quality of their domestic theme park product. Cruise business is BOOMING as families look for value elsewhere

I rode this with my five-year-old daughter a few days ago and she mentioned how the lack of authenticity in the roof shingles really ruined the verisimilitude of the ride. “I just don’t feel like I’m really in Paris,” she said solemnly as we walked away from the pavilion.

American Disney fanatics are going to see this and lose their minds. Americans have all but forgotten how to fight for their workers’ rights, and when that fight involves the multi billion dollar corporation that they worship, they’ll always find an excuse to not defend workers.

There’s a lot of reasons for this, but it needs to be said that over-simplifying and two-dimensionalizing the animation style just to make toy manufacturing cheaper is getting really hard to ignore. Never more egregious than in Wish.

Reminder: The parks aren’t seeing record-breaking crowds. There’s just fewer things to do in the parks. Year after year, more entertainment gets cut, more rides are breaking down due to lack of maintenance. And relief (new rides) isn’t in sight for AT LEAST 5-6 more years.

The Disney parks you fell in love with as a kid are dead. The spirit, the attention to detail, the treating every customer as a unique special guest is all gone. As long as the turnstiles keep moving, and merch keeps flying off shelves, those special parks are never coming back

How the FUCK does the same company who made the new Epcot fountain, Runaway Railway, Galaxy’s Edge, Cars Land, Mystic Manor, and MORE just screw around and approve this uncentered monstrosity? Anyone with their name on this should be ashamed.

I’m still just FLOORED that Disney didn’t have AT LEAST 2 new e-ticket attractions ready to debut for their 50th. Universal is out here debuting e-tickets all over the world and Disney clearly had a strategy (even before covid) of doing as little as possible.

@raymondsramirez If you’re going to draw big money in this economy, you have to have good character, good story, and be able to take some creative visual risks.

Ok, but none of y’all went to Disney Quest, so why are we all of a sudden trying to bring it back from the dead???

And we *should* be the target audience Disney is hitting a home run with. Two high-income earning gay dads with a preschool aged daughter. But we value our money way too much to waste it on a subpar, low quality vacation experience like the kind Disney now provides. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Social media and YouTube have done more harm to the Disney parks experience than Bob Chapek could’ve ever done.

@KiehlBen If it does have a different animation style/look, that hasn’t come through in the marketing.

The thing the pixie dusters, wannabe influencers, and travel agents don’t get is: We WANT to go to WDW, but we know the squeeze isn’t worth the juice. It’s not about just hating on Disney to be edgy or something. If it wasn’t such a hassle and so much work and stress, we’d go.

Last night we finished planning our 8-day vacation next month in Orlando. Not a single day at a Disney park. Not one. It’s too expensive, too complicated, Genie is causing longer lines, and the quality of their theme park product has fallen way too much to justify the prices.

Why are Disney adults in the comments getting mad at me for pointing this out..? I just want more rides at theme parks 🤷🏽‍♂️

In the last few years we’ve been told: • Sight lines don’t matter. • Immersive themeing doesn’t matter. • And now good customer service doesn’t master. So now what makes Disney, Disney? This is what happens when the parks are treated as nothing more than Instagram spots.

All this work, and they still didn’t fix one of the fundamental problems of Epcot. Not enough rides. Over the last, what, 15 years, Epcot has only a net of +1 ride (Rat) because GotG and Frozen were replacements to the park and not additions.

The tape is still gone but they’re back to forcing multiple groups to cram in and ride Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway together at Disneyland. Any ride that throws you around violently (Daisy’s conga) shouldn’t be forcing guests to slam into each other in a limited space.

FUN FACT: Disney used to use Tom to ferret out leaks in Imagineering. They would feed Imagineers and contractors bs stories and wait for them to leak to Tom. Because they knew Tom would run with ANY story from ANY source. Ppl got fired. Dude never checks for a second source.

The parks do not have “way more than ever.” They don’t even have streetmosphere anymore, no parades in most parks, there’s MUCH less live entertainment, and most people can’t even ride new e-tickets when they open because they don’t win the 7am lottery.

@wakefieldreport @imemegination Well even then. The park have way more than they ever have. And they have been expanding more than ever. Some of Disneys practices have been questionable in terms of benefits for consumers, but what they are doing is necessary for the company is what many people don’t understand
