Tesla has resumed transportation for existing new inventory units for this quarter - meaning you can now have it shipped to your nearest delivery center, albeit for a fee.
Expect the hold to be put back towards early to mid-September (last couple of weeks of the quarter).

Existing Inventory are vehicles Tesla lists on their site (new or demo) that they sell at market price. Our theory is that they could be orders customers canceled or ones Tesla wants to sell DTC asap (and to potentially get market value).

For me, it’s hilarious that if I ask it to save a dash cam clip, it always reads it as “- cam” but gets the job done 😅

To clarify - this currently only affect new existing inventory units for Model 3 and Model Y in the US. Some states are restricted to that state alone (e.g. CA).
Model S/X is free to be bought & transported in the US from any Tesla store with new existing inventory.

I have inventory drop alerts from the last week of August ‘21 for SR+ with LFP batteries. Factory Gate Dates as early as 8/16/21**. They must have started switching them a bit earlier than 9/11. -

We have seen a big drop in their inventory releases as well with regards to the RWD / Standard Range version. Our guess is with LFP battery shortages due to the lockdowns in China.

First LFP builds had 253 mile range. Subsequent ones had 262 miles. Some were told firmware update should fix it - never happened. 263 miles was the range for the NCA model right before the LFP release. Current LFP battery is indeed 272 miles.

Nope, they were only available for local pick up from the delivery center that has the new unit for sale. For example, I wouldn’t have been able to ship a new Model Y that I found in Virginia to my center in Florida. EoQ things 😅

For any new/demo units - can be custom order or inventory and must be picked up before the end of the year. Existing Inventory is the best place to hunt for one. Also FSD and EAP can be removed after placing an order on those units if you want a cheaper $.
