That is correct. I have 6 - 33 foot 18 gauge radials in one bundle that I try to fan out a bit. I also have a ground connection running to the vehicle chassis, but I get better results when I have the radials on the ground as well. Because I was trying to work in one parking spot, I did not fan them out much.

@KC7ZXY @KD9RDO @Robbie_W1RCP Goo Gone is my go to tool. Works great with a plastic scraper. Then a little Dawn to remove the oily Goo Gone.
