🧵Feedback from a parent on stuttering-affirming work (shared with parent consent with young person’s initial used for confidentiality) . No fluency tools, but rather slow and gentle work facilitating cognitive change and showing there is a stuttering community out there. ⬇️ 1/6

I’m running the Auckland half to raise money for The Women’s Refuge. If you’ve attended a training/PD event with me this year, just know that every year I donate/fundraise to a selected charity and this year’s charity is The Women’s Refuge. 1/2

@RCSLT Thank you for sharing this. Carole’s work was repeated cited when I was at Uni. The profession has lost another giant. Deepest condolences to her family.

Excited to be running our 4th Clever Kids Camp in Christchurch this weekend. Looking forward to reuniting with @ElizabethMRG79 and collecting more data for our pilot research (@me_boyo & @Suze_Freogirl) on the difference this makes for young people with dyslexia #DyslexiaSupport

@Patrick1992C @CityLitSLT Yes as a collective there will be rich narratives! All the best with it as I’m sure it will be a great session and you and the other speakers will have some wonderful insights to share. I’ll be there in spirit and look forward to catching up again soon/one day! 😃🤓

3/3 Link is here - I’ve also purposefully created this presentation so it’s featuring a panel of stakeholders (adult who stutters and 2 parents of school-aged children who stutter) so it’s “nothing about us without us”

@amyconnery34 @KerryMandulak Hi Amy! I teach 2 tutorials/lectures (6hrs of content) whereas an external colleague does the rest (30hrs +). Would you still want me to complete the survey?

@jeremypeterrich Great list. Mine would be very similar except I’d have GA - Nat Butler (nee Medhurst). Was thinking of other players who I really like and would be super subs/reserves… Bueta, Nat Bode (nee Von Bertouch), Corletto, Pretorius. Definitely a huge fan of Latty!

@JadeCartwright Doing well over here on Aotearoa/New Zealand! Continuing to do my thing with raising awareness and advocating for more affirming stuttering practices. Thanks for the gentle supervision when I was a nervous 4th year student in acute adults. Your kindness helped during that time!
