This post is ultra bittersweet. I was hoping that I’d be wishing #uryuishida a happy birthday, knowing the world would be in a better place after the voting results came in. Unfortunately, we don’t always get the happy ending we want, need or deserve. What I can say though, is it has been a joy to voice this #Quincy and I am excited for what is to come for his future. As for OUR future, we have not been beaten. We have suffered a setback. It will take time to heal, we will lick our wounds, but we will get back up and keep fighting for what is important to us until ALL people are treated equally! It will just take longer than we hoped for. Reach out to people you know, love and care about. See how they are doing. If you have the strength to help lift someone up who is struggling, please do so. We all need to support each other.

@Faulty_Pixel I am so sorry. Draining is a very tame word to use when a lot of people’s futures are in the balance because they choose to forget WHY we are called the United States. At least, that’s what we’re supposed to be. 🤷‍♂️

Ashley, I have been doing a lot of reading lately, and I’ve noticed that if a person says “I am a person with disabilities” as opposed to “I’m disabled”, that the later causes internalizing a negative affect. I don’t know if that is true, but you’ll have to tell me if saying the first way makes a difference. I hope it does. 😊
