114 years ago, President Teddy Roosevelt made Devils Tower the first national monument. This geological wonder is sacred to many Northern Plains Native American tribes, home to a variety of wildlife and full of recreational activities.

The Wind River Canyon Scenic Byway follows a path through Wind River Canyon that winds from Shoshoni to Thermopolis. Travelers can enjoy fishing or rafting before ending the trip at Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis.

Devils Tower to the Native American Tribes living in this region is a sacred place. They call it Bear Lodge, Bear's Tipi and more. Visitors may see prayer cloths around the park. Out of respect do not disturb or photograph the articles.
