If you considered Capricorn as the sea-goat, it and Sagittarius - the centaur - are the only images in the zodiac that only occur in our imagination and not in nature.
The wisdom of Capricorn comes from learning to transfigure earth-legs into sea-tail and back again, to carry the wisdom of the ocean depths to the mountain top.
Mercury is said to signify astrology, but astrology also has strongly Saturnian elements.
This is because it is an ancient, occult art, which has historically been passed down from teacher to teacher.
But there's another element of astrology as Saturnian:
Living in this country is so hard. Attempted coup? Go to work. Stripping people of their reproductive rights? Go to work. Leaving people financially kneecapped? Go to work. It doesn’t have to be this way. I know, because I’ve lived in countries where it’s not. Yet here we are.
As someone with their Ascendent Ruler in their 8th House, I've had to deal a lot with death and loss in my life. But I've also found a lot of meaning in those things.
I’ve been thinking about it for the last day, so I guess I have to ask. How do you differentiate between a crush and someone you just think is hot? How do you differentiate between someone that you find intriguing, but you’re not sure you’re actually attracted to?
1/ I just had my Month of Fall. Let's talk about it.
The MoF is determined by counting from the Solar Revolution Lot of Fortune to its Lot of Nemesis. This tells you which month in a given year is likely to be most difficult. Although, that can be alleviated by a # of factors.
This isn't a climate solution. We can't "you do you" ourselves out of the climate crisis.
We need federal standards that protect workers from the heat, and to keep fossil fuels in the ground.
1/ Within the next 2 weeks the Nodes will shift signs. I looked back to the last time the South Node was in Libra and the North Node was in Aries, which took place from about December ‘04 to June ‘06.
I started my last job February 5, 2020.
I start my new job February 5, 2024.
I thought that was weird until I realized that’s when the Sun is trine my Mc.
The Moon is currently in Virgo applying to a trine with Mercury in Taurus. The Moon exalts in Taurus. Mercury exalts in Virgo. Therefore, the Moon and Mercury are in a fun little configuration called “reception by honor.”
Drama in the astrological community is so funny to me, because I can see how absurd the disagreements would be to anyone looking in from the outside; "Oh, you think your symbolic system of meaning is better than their symbolic system of meaning. That's cute. They're both fake."
1/ Thinking about how around the age of 33 Mercury has a synodic return.
This means that it will return to the natal position in the Solar Return Chart.
This signifies a reaffirmation of Mercury's role in the birth chart.
Other elements of the SR chart will add flavor to this.
@JoshuaPHilll
I think right now might be the worst possible time to get into the short-term rental market. It will be interesting to see if many of these “investors” survive the next year.
Where are my Capricorn/Aquarius Moons at? What’s your favorite thing/a challenge about your Moon that might not be obvious to someone without that placement?
As in many parts of life, sometimes you can only learn by failing, by falling down and having to pick yourself back up.
With astrology, the stakes often are, or feel, quite high. Sometimes you make the wrong call, get it wrong, or get confronted by various seeming limitations.
1/ Peregrine: having a tendency to wander
In Spanish, the word "peregrino" means pilgrim. In Spain, those that walk the Camino de Santiago, the ~500 mile route between Southern France and western Spain are called peregrinos.
In astrology, planets that are peregrine
If you picked up a childhood hobby in adulthood and another adult tells you that you’re too old for it, I’d suggest considering their comment as more about them than you.
1/ Like many, I'm interested in this quote from Rob Hand from the recent episode of the Astrology Podcast tying Mercury to the rulership of the Lot of Fortune, Mercury being co-present with the LoF, or those conditions present for The Place of Acquisition (11th from LoF).
1/ "All the planets have some type of connection to astrology from Saturn to the Moon...but Mercury is considered to be the ultimate astrological planet. It is the planet of measurement, divination, and translation, which is what any oracle is at its core...
Since getting into Rosalía's music recently, I've been interested to learn more about her as a person.
Like me, she's also a Sagittarius Rising.
Within 5 minutes of starting to watch her Hot Ones interview, she said some of the most Sag Rising shit possible.
This concept hasn't fully formed in my mind yet, but one thing I've been thinking about since my conversation with
@bad_pastor_
on the sign of Cancer through the houses for each rising sign has to do with Planetary Joys. Each planet has a house that it joys at being located in.
I'm excited to announce that tomorrow I'll be dropping the first episode in a mini-series entitled 'What Makes An Astrologer?'
This series is a response to the comments made by Rob Hand recently on the Astrology Podcast about professional astrologers and Mercury and the LoF.
This can feel quite heavy and can bring about doubt.
Processing and rectifying these learning experiences can take time and the isolation necessary for reflection.
Time and space can be hard to come by with the demands of life.
I've been thinking about all this a lot lately.
Seriously, I’m having a bit of hard time with this astro weather, so I’m going to have to wait until Friday to release my first Leo season episode. Stay safe out there, y’all!
Void Moon are generally not good times to start new things, but I think that can be mitigated by the transiting Moon making aspecting to planets and angles in one's natal chart.
PSA: The flag this person is referring to is a trans pride flag.
This person is a transphobe and mansplaining astrology in an attempt to push his hateful views.
I'd suggest unfollowing/blocking this person.
I have a certification exam for work tomorrow. Feeling hopefully that it will go well when looking at my Monthly Revolution.
N9 on the Asc, SR Asc as MR9, Moon in N10, LoF on the LotY, Master of the Nativity exalted, joying, ruling the Ascendent. Jupiter on the Mc in N6.
Do you have your Ascendent Ruler in the 8th House?
Rather than being a bad thing, here's what Masha'Allah has to say about it:
". . . it signifies goods in something of ancient things, and because of inheritance."
Living in LA is so crazy, because one day you’ll be watching a TikTok of somebody talking about how much they love their wife, and then two days later you’ll randomly see them walking down the street in Pasadena.
Between a breakup in July, a cross-country move starting this week, and a pretty likely lay-off next week, I feel like fate is just trolling me at this point lmao
1/ Where are my dignified and/or angular Moons at?!?
In my conversation with
@dorjepadma
, I included a quote from Christopher Warnock in the introduction to the episode. Talking about his and Chris Brennan’s shared Aquarius Rising and Moon, Warnock says:
I hope this didn’t make anyone needlessly fearful. Planets frequently go retrograde, and it’s often not a huge deal. But the past two Venus Rxs (summer of 15 and 07) rearranged my whole life, and this one seems to be doing the same. But that won’t be everyone’s experience!
This Mercury retrograde’s story has been my partner’s best friend and I developing feelings/attraction for each other and it messing up all three of our dynamics (Lord of the 7th in the 5th). How about you?
1/ Having a mantra practice is so cool, because you’re employing a tool that you likely use every single day - your voice - to transform your life.
If you’re having a hard time instituting a meditation practice, I highly suggest trying a mantra practice first.
In my recent conversation with Amaya, she’s suggested that I watch this for my Ascendent Ruler, Jupiter in Cancer in the 8th. I really think she should do mini-readings where she suggests Studio Ghibli films based on your natal chart. What do you think yours would be?
@TuitAstrologico
I’ve seen a few times that Saturn aspecting natal Saturn or personal planets aspecting natal Saturn can create an opportunity for sobriety to arise.
Friends, usually I'm pretty stoic about transits, but I will be vulnerable and admit that I feel some dread about the upcoming Venus Rx.
Venus and I, well... it's complicated...
Good vibes appreciated. 💜
In my recent conversation with
@ladycazimi
, we talked about our dignified 8th House placements - her exalted Moon and my exalted Jupiter - and how they have often resulted in "being blessed with support from other people." Do you have strong 8th House placements and relate?
Aries is the ram. Taurus is the bull. Gemini’s twins. Cancer is the crab/lobster. Leo the lion. Virgo’s maiden. Libran scales. Scorpio scorpion. Aquarius and the water bearer. Pisces and the fish.
Jupiter in Cancer here.
Thinking about Austin Coppock's comparison of domicile and exaltation with the latter being, to paraphrase, "doing the exact amount to get the job done."
I don't know that I've ever used more than one exclamation point in my life.
1/ In my research with
@austral_taur
into Robert Hand’s criteria for a professional astrologer, we found that about 71% of the famous historical astrologers charts that we examined, or 63 of 91, had one of these signatures.
In my conversation with
@frog_yama
, she told me about the Lot of Works from Abu Ma'shar's 'Greater Introduction', which speaks to "the nature of the goods someone creates."
Where is yours? What planet(s) rules it? What does it say about the work that you're doing in this world?
Reading people‘s Mercury in Sagittarius takes is a good reminder for me of the importance of rooting transits (and other timing techniques) to the nativity.
I’d definitely take Mercury in my 1st of Sagittarius - detriment and all - to my 12th House of Scorpio.
1/ For those of you having a hard time calculating their Lot of Works by hand, here's a run through using Demetra George's chart as an example.
First, identify the sect of the chart. The Sun is above the Ascendent, so this is a Day Chart.
