Hi Stephen I grew up to be in Architecture as my parents wanted me to follow my own path. I did perform piano duets with my Father until he passed away in 2010. I am now just an ordinary guy who once did something extraordinary but amazing to watch myself doing this now I am 40!

Someone was whistling something very fast going past the office today. Without thinking I said out loud ‘Barber’s Adagio for Strings’. My colleagues looked at me in astonishment- after showing them the BBC clip they said ahh he’s still got it! A strange tune to whistle though!!!

Well I did perform piano duets with my Father all over the world which I guess you weren’t aware of before making your judgement but thanks for the comments anyway! I was only 3 and it was a memory gift more than a musical one!

I think I mainly had a great memory. The musical part was just chance that I had a concert pianist father so I was exposed to a lot of music and could recognise the pieces.

Thanks! I am actually a Chartered Architectural Technologist which is similar to an Architect but focuses more on the details of how a building is actually put together and producing all the information to do it! I was actually far more talented at drawings than I was music!

It seems to have got a particularly big reaction this year as it is a world away from current events and has made a lot of people of smile. Little did I know back then when I was being filmed that it would be shared around the world on the internet nearly 40 years later!

I had plenty of toys. In fact I still have the brown bear that you can see in the clip that starts off on the chair and ends up on the piano near the end!

as a six year old singing opera with Moira Anderson also on Thats Life in 1987. Filmed around April or May possibly aired later that year!

Absolutely as I think this is probably the only footage I have of him as he was always behind the camera filming us when we were growing up! A lot of people have come forward who remember working and listening to him so these clips have become a real tribute to his unique talents

He had a unique very deep singing voice for a 6 year old and it caused a sensation at the time! The BBC made him a custom costume for the performance at the Scarborough Spa. Not sure how your clips are archived but I hope you can find it!

A couple of people have come forward to say they actually remember it being broadcast. I remember getting recognised absolutely everywhere. It was prime time viewing with only 3 TV channels then!

Thanks, we were very lucky to go on Canberra with him many times in the 80s and 90s, back when cruising wasn’t that affordable or mainstream like it is now. We even performed concerts with him in the Meridian Room!

Yes Bill Massey was a neighbour in Osgodby when the clip was filmed. He used to come round to the house in the clip and play this football game called ‘striker’ with my Dad! Then later I was in his design and technology class at St Augustine’s! Fantastic teacher!
