I’m not suggesting anyone is entitled to a job. People are entitled to get paid at a market rate for the job they do. If employers want to attract the best talent, and win the war for talent, they must pay the market price. Why would a high performer who is making $130k be attracted to a role with a range of $80k to $170k and being told new hires usually start at the low end of the range? It’s also unfair to set someone’s salary based on their current salary I agree with you that people should get rewarded for quality work. That’s what bonus programs accomplish. Base salaries for the same role should be equitable, and then people earn higher bonuses based on their contributions and company performance.

@B_Raffles Thank you, Barbara! Degrees are becoming less relevant as more employers want demonstrable skills & experience over degrees.

What if the federal government created a permanent title program, The Teacher Appreciation Fund, that for around $87B we could give each teacher an annual $25,000 raise. Another idea is to make teachers tax exempt. We give thousands of organizations non-profit status that make a tremendous amount of money w/o philanthropy. Our teacher deserve this!

@JRudd_Scout How many players with a 95 mph fastball are not discovered? College recruiters don't show up randomly but they show up for tournaments with the top players.

@danielklieu Thank you, Daniel! DVS is amazing! I completely agree. Most colleges are not keeping up & operate under archaic accreditation that keeps students in school for four or more year's. Companies are creating their own certifications - Toyota, AWS, Google & Microsoft, etc.

@calcwithforck I agree, Jana. Are most people willing to relocate for the available jobs, and do unemployed people have the credentials employers are expecting? Rather than working 7 to 3 at Marriott, there are people working the hours and days they want for Uber, Lyft, and DoorDash.
