The @dogecoin exploit, coupled with a $200 bounty for a 'low severity' bug that could crash the network, highlights critical issues: misclassified severity, overlooked network-wide risks, and hence issue remained unaddressed in majority number of nodes until exploited due to 'low severity'. Last month, Verichains supported @LuckyCoinProj in reviewing and patching this issue, proving proactive action prevents disasters. We need to have a blockchain-focused CVSS-like vulnerability scoring framework that incorporates key factors such as decentralization, transaction dependency, and network-specific risks to enhance the accuracy of vulnerability scoring.
