You either grind for jades and get meta characters, or whale your way to the endgame. In league, you cannot buy your way to the top by buying meta champs. If you're shit, you'll still be shit.

You can hit challenger with starter champs if you have the skill for it. If you look at the lists, high elo is filled with old champs. Unlike in HSR, goodluck hitting 36 stars in MOC with 1.0 characters.

In league, you can reach challenger without spending in league but in HSR, the power creep is so abysmal that you'd sometimes wonder how long your character that you pulled will last in the meta

You won't enjoy a game you don't like With how complex these mobas are, I don't really like juggling both and would rather just pick what you like and spend your time and effort there
