Perhaps what we were doing there will become clear once the DoD releases the result of the investigation of the War Crimes we reported when we submitted “A Report: War Crimes Committed Against U.S. Military Personnel, June 8, 1967” [ on June 8, 2005 under the DoD Law of War Manual which requires the DoD to conduct a prompt investigation of the allegations made in the War Crimes Report. Given it has been almost 20 years since we filed the War Crimes Report we felt time has long past for the DoD to conduct their “prompt” investigation, so we filed an FOIA request to get a copy of the investigation we all know they never conducted. For those who are not as informed about the attack and continuing coverup of the attack on our ship as is @notatroll770, I’d like to share some information about the attack on our ship that few Americans know. The attack on the #USSLiberty was a deliberate, premeditated, well planned and almost perfectly executed attack on a lone, freshly painted, well-marked, correctly identified, non-combatant, virtually unarmed @USNavy ship by the most powerful military in the Middle East allied with the President of the United States in violation of international law and US Statutes. Of a crew of 294 officers and men (including three civilians), the ship suffered thirty-four (34) killed in action and at least one hundred seventy-four (174) others wounded in action. Over 70% casualty rate. The ship itself, a Forty Million ($40,000,000) Dollar state-of-the-art signals intelligence (SIGINT) platform, suffered such severe damage that it never embarked on another operational mission and got sold in 1970 as scrap for $101,666.66. In 1980, while not admitting fault, the Israeli government agreed to pay $6,000,000 for the damage they did to the $40,000,000 ship. We have filed an FOIA request to get documents about the Israeli payment for the damage they did to the #USSLiberty [ The attack included the jamming of our radios on both @USNavy tactical and international maritime distress frequencies, the use of unmarked aircraft by the forces attacking the #USSLiberty, and the deliberate machine gunning of life rafts we had dropped over the side in anticipation of abandoning ship. While we were still under attack and calling for help, the White House ordered the recall of rescue aircraft that had been launched from Sixth Fleet aircraft carriers. Obeying that order cost the lives of 25 of our shipmates killed by the torpedo. It is also a capital violation of Article 99 of the UCMJ which the DoD has de facto waived regarding the attack on our ship. [ After recalling those flights, Sixth Fleet personnel listened to our calls for help as the attack continued, aware that they were forbidden to come to our aid. On June 8, 2005 #USSLiberty survivors submitted “A Report: War Crimes Committed Against U.S. Military Personnel, June 8, 1967” with the Department of the Army. [ Under the Department of Defense Law of War Program, the DoD is obligated to ensure “All reportable incidents committed by or against U.S. personnel, enemy persons, or any other individual are reported promptly, investigated thoroughly, and, where appropriate, remedied by corrective action.”[ During his testimony before the @USNavy Court of Inquiry, #USSLiberty survivor (later Secret Service Special Agent) Lloyd Painter related under oath his witnessing the @IDF torpedo boats deliberately machine gunning the life rafts we had dropped over the side in anticipation of abandoning ship. [ That testimony does not appear in the @USNavy Court of Inquiry Report. Not redacted—omitted. An NSA message dated 6/19/1967 tells of a 6/17/1967 Associated Press article by Colin Frost who interviewed many #USSLiberty survivors who testified before the @USNavy Court of Inquiry that they thought the attack was deliberate. [ That testimony does not appear in the @USNavy Court of Inquiry Report. Not redacted—omitted. Appendix C which is referenced in the "Summary of Events" as being in the Report but it is not. It is omitted (not redacted—omitted) from the USNCOI Report. [ We've filed an FOIA request for Appendix C. [ #USSLiberty survivor Glenn Oliphant also witnessed the deliberate machine gunning of our life rafts but was not called to testify before the @USNavy Court of Inquiry. That act of deliberately destroying our life rafts removed any chance anyone would survive the sinking of our ship. The DoD has yet to convene an investigation of the allegations contained in our War Crimes Report. The attack on our ship is the only attack on a @USNavy ship since the end of WWII NOT investigated by the US government. The only War Crimes alleged by American military units to have been committed against them that have not been investigated by the US government are those committed by the @IDF during its attack on the #USSLiberty. Prove it for yourself: Ask your Congressional Delegation for a Copy of the Congressional Investigation of the Attack on the USS Liberty [. They will be unable to send you one since none exists. Ask your Congressional Delegation to ask the Congressional Research Service if the US government has investigated the attack on the #USSLiberty. [ The Congressional Research Service will tell you that during their researching the question, they visited Jay Cristol's website and couldn't find any US government investigations of the attack on the #USSLiberty. Ask Congressional Historians for a Copy of the Congressional Investigation of the Attack on the USS Liberty [ The Historians will tell you that in the records available to them they can find no reference to a Congressional investigation of the attack on the #USSLiberty or any legislation authorizing a Congressional investigation. In a response to a request I made to the Center for Legislative Archives of the National Archives, we learned that they “have been unable to identify any files in the records of House and Senate committees related to an investigation of the 1967 USS Liberty incident.” We submitted a question to the Library of Congress through their “Ask a Librarian” facility. That question was: “I am a survivor of the June 8, 1967, Israeli attack on the USS Liberty and serve as the Historian of the USS Liberty Veterans Association. I am interested in receiving a copy of a Congressional investigation of the attack on our ship and would appreciate knowing if one exists and how I may go about obtaining a copy.” The LOC designated my question as “ticket #15124150.” The response from a reference librarian: Thank you for using the Library of Congress Ask a Librarian service to submit your question to a reference librarian about a Congressional investigation of the 1967 attack on the USS Liberty. We consulted the following resources, but did not locate a Congressional hearing or report concerning the USS Liberty: The Library of Congress's catalog (there is a specific catalog topic Liberty (Ship) for materials concerning this topic, which lists numerous titles but no Congressional materials) The commercial database ProQuest Congressional We hope you find this information helpful and wish you the best in your research. ********************************* Public Services Division Law Library of Congress Library of Congress Ask| FAQs | Guides | Webinars | Blog Thank you for using Ask A Librarian at the Law Library of Congress. How about prioritizing the US government investigation of the June 8, 1967, @IDF attack on the #USSLiberty? It’s been over 57 years since the attack. Surely the US government investigation of the attack should be nearing the top of the list of things to do. To prepare for that investigation, we’d like you to release all US government records concerning the attack on the #USSLiberty. @POTUS ordered the release of records about #JFK, #RFK, and #MLK because their assassinations occurred over 50 years ago. The attack on the #USSLiberty far exceeds that limit.

Man people, most repeating claims of Jay Cristol [ and the Jewish Virtual Library [ deem any US government document that merely mentions the #USSLiberty to be a US government investigation of the attack on our ship. The Jewish Virtual Library [@JewishVLibrary] is so afraid of having to support its claim publicly here on Twitter that they have blocked us on Twitter. That leaves others concerned about the lies by the @JewishVLibrary to press them for an explanation of their claims and why they have taken the extreme action of banning us--those directly affected by their lies--from entering into a public dialogue with them. @JewishVLibrary @RealCandaceO @Navy_JAG @Elsa_is_Elsa @CamHigby @charliekirk11

On June 8, 2005, we filed “A Report: War Crimes Committed Against U.S. Military Personnel, June 8, 1967” [ with the Secretary of the Army in his capacity as Executive Agent for the Secretary of Defense. We filed an FOIA request for the report of the investigation the DoD was mandated to conduct. And for all records pertaining to the investigation. Given the 2005 filing of the War Crimes Report, they have had ample time to “promptly” investigate the allegations. [

We have an area of agreement. A full investigation into the attack on the #USSLiberty requires collecting and analyzing evidence and testimony from all sources. Unfortunately, none of the parties to the attack have even attempted that effort. The US government completely neglected to investigate the attack on our ship. The @IDF by claiming they reviewed “all primary and secondary evidence available.” But they didn’t. What evidence is there that supports the claim that the US assured them there were no US ships there? Why would that assurance automatically render all other vessels in the area to be enemy vessels? Wouldn't the @IDF still have the obligation to positively identify a vessel before attacking her? What did I write that supports your position that the US government has investigated the attack on the #USSLiberty?

Now that’s a move I didn’t expect. Instead of relying on evidence and accounts from people who were actually there and who took part in the attack, you choose to use Artificial “Intelligence” to support your position. If you do a bit more than a cursory examination of the Moorer Report, you learn it is not a US government investigation of the attack on our ship. The Report is named for ADM Thomas Moorer who is the only person to hold the positions of CINCPAC and CINCLANT. He was also one of our most strident supporters. This is the first we have heard of a “joint U.S.-Israel board of inquiry.” ChatGPT hasn’t heard about one either despite what it told you when it replied to us that “the U.S. and Israel did not form a joint board of inquiry” See Attachment ChatGPT also admitted it “can make mistakes.” If you’re interested in contacting a sentient person instead of an artificial one, there are several US government organizations you can contact to get a copy of the US government investigation of the attack on our ship. One being your Congressional Delegation. They are also the people you contact to have them ask the Congressional Research Service if the US government has investigated the attack on our ship. Other US government agencies to contact are the Historians of both the US House of Representatives and US Senate. Then there is the National Archives and Records Administration, specifically the Center for Legislative Archives of the National Archives. Finally, the Library of Congress through their “Ask a Librarian” facility. With regard to @IDF “investigations” of the attack on our ship, why don’t you research the issue of the @IDF’s 1967 report about the attack not agreeing with the account of the @IDF lead pilot of the attacking jets? @RealCandaceO @Navy_JAG @Elsa_is_Elsa @CamHigby @charliekirk11

You are apparently unaware that the President of the United States ordered Sixth Fleet aircraft recalled while we were still under attack and calling for help. That order violated Article 99 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. [ It also was given before we had reported the identity of the forces attacking us. It cost the lives of 25 of our shipmates killed by the torpedo and allowed the @IDF torpedo boats to press their attack unhampered by threat of Sixth Fleet intervention. Are we suppose to ignore the fact that it was the @IDF that attacked us with impunity and committed War Crimes against the United States--again with impunity? Or, pretend it was someone else? As for the other incidents you mention, have you done anything more than bring them up during your participation in a conversation about the attack on our ship?

You are more than welcome to your opinion but it implies the only reason we are pursuing an effort to ensure the attack is accorded the same treatment as every other post-WWII attack on a @USNavy ship is because @Israel was the aggressor. Surely you don't think we wouldn't be as dogged in our pursuit of a US government investigation had the events of the attack and aftermath been exactly the same except that Egypt had been the aggressor.

In Secretary Hegseth's January 25, 2025 Message to the Force SECDEF Hegseth said, “We will put America First, and we will never back down.” “Just as my fellow soldiers had my back on the battlefield, know that I will always have your back.” [ We are asking SECDEF Hegseth to have our back by supporting our effort to persuade President Trump to Release the #USSLiberty Records. We didn't just recently arrive and begin telling the story of the attack on our ship. According to an NSA message, that effort began while the @USNavy Court of Inquiry was in session. Hardly the action of hypocrites. Rather the actions of @USNavy veterans and #NSA officials who are trying to get the attack on our ship treated the same as every other post-WWII attack on a @USNavy ship. "paid for and apologized" is an meaningless argument that is routinely brought up by people who want others to believe that "paid for and apologized" is a defense for committing War Crimes during an attack on a @USNavy ship. There is no defense for committing War Crimes. Neither is there a defense for allowing War Crimes to be committed with impunity. Nor is there a statute of limitations on War Crimes or on allowing War Crimes to be committed with impunity. @RealCandaceO @Navy_JAG @Elsa_is_Elsa @CamHigby @charliekirk11
