I want to be very, very, VERY clear on this. We've read the Open Cup rules. A LOT. US Soccer has ZERO, and I mean ZERO restrictions on the roster that MLS teams can put out in an Open Cup game. None whatsoever. If a roster is league legal, it is Open Cup legal. Period.

MLS typically advances in 75-80% of their matches vs. lower divisions. When you’re a part of the 20-25% that don’t, this is probably the opposite of what you should say after. Any other coach in American sports would be crucified for this.
