The boldness to embroil our institutions in "political discussion or dispute" is our gift as a denomination @crechurches and college @NewSaintAndrews! We will never shy away from keeping Christ and his kingdom in the public square!

Among the many words of praise I have received over the years, being called "demonic," "evil," and "tyrannical" by Hitler aficionados is among my most cherished compliments.

What this means is that the benefits of paedocommunion begin before the baptized child is able to speak, let alone articulate some profession of faith. The child’s little hands are not prevented from reaching out and receiving the bread. Rather, she is included with every other member of the Lord’s household. She is part of the body. She doesn’t have to wait to eat until she proves she knows something or is able to articulate that she is aware of what is going on. She doesn’t have to jump through any additional hoops. She grows up never knowing a time when she didn’t eat with Jesus at his Table.

I have made this argument numerous times over the years. We operate like utopian ignorantists. We nitpick and feast on the breadcrumbs while the table is a feast of victories.

I’m increasingly convinced that some on the Right are constitutionally incapable of winning Trump does 99 amazing things above & beyond what anyone was expecting but then does or says 1 little thing that could’ve been better & they freak out. They doom post. And they bring down others. These types are unstable. Unable to see a bigger picture or comprehend the grand movements of politics. As such, they are unfit for leadership.

@TBush1689 You are absolutely right, Tim. The expressive individualism of modern evangelicalism has invaded the Church.

In the Fall, man lost his privilege of being the Guardian of the Garden. A cherubim with a flaming sword protected the gate. But on Easter Sunday, angels are at the tomb where Jesus was buried. Jesus was buried in another Garden. The angels are no longer hostile with flaming swords, but they say, “Fear Not.” In the Resurrection of Jesus, the angels are no longer guarding the Garden, and Adam’s race, redeemed in Jesus, now become new guardians of the Garden and the world. The angels step aside and allow redeemed man to keep the Paradise of God. As Adam’s race has done the harm, so Adam’s race shall help to heal it.

I have the privilege of speaking to CREC pastors virtually every day. I am continually grateful for the maturity and wisdom of these shepherds, their godly leadership in Word and Sacrament, their courageous voices in the public square, and their unrelenting pursuit of faithful worship during all seasons. There will always be critiques of the CREC from every corner, but I know that the work on the ground is bearing much fruit among our children and children's children. I couldn't be more honored to serve alongside these fine men!

@JustinBorger Blessings on you, brother! I rejoice that God spared us the wickedness of Kamala Harris. He showed us mercy, and I would be in sin if I didn't rejoice.

Justin, even if what you say is true, and it may be, I am perfectly content in seeing incremental movements mixed with some disappointing bugs along the way. The net positive is far superior. There is no doubt that the game has been significantly changed to our advantage instead of the enemy’s. Current policies are shifting and what you consider to be the instrumentalizing of the faith is actually the activation of policies that protect the church and allow it to be herself. The enculturization of society through Christian language is far more than we could have imagined even one month ago. I prefer to give thanks to God for all things, even if it doesn’t meet our precision quota.

Our Father and our God, the waves and the whirlwind are at your command; the angels and archangels serve at your word; the hearts of kings are under your watchful care; you direct and guide wherever you will, and all things in heaven above and earth below are theaters of your glory. We pray, O merciful God, that you would spare our land and turn the hearts of people to Zion, holy city of our God. Guide the lips of our president to reflect the rule of the King of nations and surround him with godly counselors. Urge him to find refuge in you and to use the power granted to him for the good of the city, and the everlasting city, your holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. May the holy Gospel rid this nation of unrighteousness in high places and tear down the idols that deceive us. Make straight your paths for the King of glory to enter the highways and byways of our great nation so that our policies will more and more reflect the eternal ethic of heaven for the glory of the Son, Jesus Christ, Amen!

The Bible is to be read historically/cumulatively. God is building a house for his name. The early seeds of history will produce the great tree that will cover the entire world. He is growing a child into a glorious bride, and that bride will inherit the whole world as an inheritance. God is building a home for his people to dwell in, where his name is exalted. The Scriptures accumulate imagery and typology to increase our appetites for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
