Wild how international heavy music press wont review our album that hit

in Aus, wont write about us as we sell out theatres across USA, wont even include us as an option in AOTY polls, but was more than happy to get ad revenue by using us for clickbait when my best friend died
Metal fans be like:
“This guitar tone is disgusting” (*non-derogatory)
“That breakdown is offensive and ignorant” (*complimentary) / “It committed a hate crime against me” (*approving)
“This is pure abominable filth, its’ cantankerous stench is truly odorous” (*high praise)
“I hate it when bands write songs with a more ‘commercial’ sound just so they can make more money”
…my brother in christ I don’t know how to tell you this but almost all members of your favourite heavy bands unashamedly LOVE pop music. You don’t know why anyone does anything.
All these armchair “experts” jumping in to diagnose Post with all kinds of addictions and illnesses, have clearly never experienced simply stepping off a tour bus in the morning feeling a little dusty and immediately having a stranger start asking you questions
MGK taking time out of his day to try and clap back at members of

only to get ratioed is literally the most involvement he’s had with the alternative scene in the last year.
Search us on loudersound . com just for example. Nothing in 6 years before we lost him. Nothing in the 5 months after. For every amazing thing that happened in both periods. But bands doing less or similar numbers write a tweet or just scratch their arse and get an article.
I hate complaining because we’ve been so blessed & had so much support in other areas. But the more I think about this the more bitter I get.
No mention of the final body of art he contributed to. Let alone its predecessor. But don’t forget to get your bag when tragedy strikes.
A few weeks ago I received a message that made my jaw hit the floor… an invitation to collaborate with the one and only Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park, an all-time musical hero of mine (and probably yours too) alongside a handful of super talented and lovely musicians & friends…
It’s 2001, you’re 14 & hate your parents & get beat up at school & are convinced you’ll never have sex, then one night you see THIS on TV. Armies of seething Christian mums are calling the station but you’ve just found your entire new personality (*u still never have sex though)
“Tour must be crazy do you guys have like groupies and stuff hahaha” sir we spent our off-day today parked at Wal Mart watching Battlebots on the bandwagon tv and it was very nice and peaceful
Ryan you are going to be missed so much 💔🥀 You had such a way with music and such a huge amount of talent for someone so young. I loved watching you play and I was always in awe seeing how you’d nail every guitar solo live. You were a true gem and a huge influence to so many ❤️
These motherfuckers are not even ready for the hellfire I am about to bring tomorrow as soon as I get back from Tesco bro.
I will destroy you.
I will massacre you.
I will fuck you up.

there is a nerf war happening on this tour between planet and Polaris and when i say these dudes are armed the teeth… i’m not kidding they have these battery powered electric deathglock bazookas w/ scopes. it’s really something. OPS! if i disappear just know i caught a stray 🎯
Every time we tour with American bands we end up having a long conversation about the scope of
@Northlane
’s ongoing influence on modern metal not just in Aus but all around the world & I’m just so proud to be from the same city & have the friendship I have with them. What a band.
Our album drops tomorrow and I love every song on it but I have to say I am particularly excited for everybody to hear “Vagabond”, “Martyr (Waves)” and “Pray For Rain”.
@Negat0_
If you write songs about warships sailing to Valhalla it is totally warranted. But when it expanded beyond the Viking bands and into metalcore I got very confused
First show back tonight. I have no idea how this is going to feel. Preparing for a mix of both the best and the worst. Gonna try to hold it together somehow.
Fucking hell how much money do you reckon FOB turned down as they begged them to do Cork Tree or Infinity in full…just to be the only band not doing a legacy album set lmao
When We Were Young Fest have officially announced the 2024 line-up featuring full album performances from My Chemical Romance, Pierce The Veil, Sleeping With Sirens, The Used, Chiodos, Cobra Starship, Coheed And Cambria, Neck Deep and more!
Hi, I’ve not popped in here for a while but I’m feeling the most positive & motivated I’ve felt in years, playing my best sets of my life w/ friends I would die for* (by Nerf gun) - which is amazing to say after everything. Filled with gratitude, peace and endless love for all 🖤
The response to this album has been overwhelmingly lovely but every now and then I’ll see a comment from some kid online saying “They’ve changed, they abandoned everything I loved about them” & I’m honestly scratching my head like what the fuck are you even talking about bro lmao
Drummers, we all love to hit ‘em with “The Phil…” but have you ever hit ‘em with… THE CRAIG? 🥁🔪

THE GUILLOTINE “PHIL” 🖤
What’s really funny is seeing controversy around Alpha Wolf now, in the year of our lord 2023 when they’ve largely dropped the badboy shtick. The new kids would get a bloody rude shock if they knew the kind of elite smacktalk

was engaging in back in 2014, the menace

I don’t think Marcus is upset that someone didn’t like his music dude; I think he’s upset that you chose to put his face next to those insulting words and make that the thumbnail. Don’t twist it.

Up post-midnight yet again watching live videos from this year (pre- and post-June) and feeling the full spectrum of everything. I miss him so fucking much but goddamn am I proud of my fellas.
@tarpalcunnel
100%. The other crazy thing is that they only speak to each other. It’s like some sort of secret illuminati or something but every drummer ever will follow 500 people and it’s just the drummer of 500 different bands
@BlackWireRekids
Sorry I’d love you to expand on every aspect of what you’re trying to say here, cos I’m trying to understand what the fuck your point is but I can’t see how any of those words you typed relate to me or my band.
If you’ve never seen 2 heavily tattooed guys in black shirts arguing passionately about which Dua Lipa or Taylor Swift record is best then you probably haven’t toured much. Every good band also contains at least 1 Beatles nut.
But seriously band guys fucking love Dua Lipa bro.
Musicians who release “depressing” music need to realise that they are making people kill themselves just to appear “edgy” and “alternative” while raking in millions of dollars.
No. You need to stop being inauthentic zoomer killers. Try putting out a positive message. Frauds.
I can’t believe every day I log onto this app to hear one of my tour-friends has apparently committed mass murder and high treason, only to do some digging of my own and ultimately find out (disappointedly) that LITERALLY NOTHING HAPPENED. Jesus christ how fucking bored are you
Can’t wait for you all to hear Harbinger. And Parasites. And With Regards. And The Crossfire. And Dissipate. And Aftertouch. And Fault Line. And All In Vain.
People on the internet sure do love to assume the direction of an entire album based off one single.
We have never released a record where all songs were the same stylistically across the board, and we never will.
Winston from Parkway just shouted out our band in front of 5000 people and we didn’t even play the show tonight.
Everything is great, Aus metalcore rules, the end.
You can find hundreds of videos out there of bands stopping huge, crazy shows over even a relatively small injury in the crowd. My band has on more then one occasion done it over LITERALLY nothing, just because we THOUGHT something had gone wrong.
Don’t project your own taste onto artists just because they happened to make some stuff you liked at one point in time. Our first EU tour in ‘17, the shared bus playlist was pretty much exclusively Billy Eilish, The Midnight, Chvrches, Post Malone and Spanish Love Songs.
Last night I met Eloy Casagrade and Andy Hurley at the same time, then Andy gave us passes to watch Fall Out Boy’s set from side stage. Once again, DO meet your heroes x
@Verminadmiral
Of course it is, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s frustrating to be onstage trying to create a moment & have half the crowd making a circle pit or whatever only for it to get ruined by a bunch of people who insist on sitting on the floor because they think it’s funny
Guys it’s not that serious. I am not anti-fun and I promise I’m not gonna come down in the pit and fight you for playing in your imaginary boat. I just don’t like seeing the people who came to dance and jump around being unable to do so cos everyone around them sat on the floor.
Omg the man in the black t-shirt said a cuss word on stage. And the other man didn’t recite the script I wrote for him in my head at meet&greet. Let’s talk about it for a month in vague & mysteriously hushed terms so any casual readers assume he must have cannibalised an infant
Yall ain’t ready for the drum cam content I’ve caught on this tour. I have a year’s worth of clips from this week alone. I’m different now. Hurricane season.
Our debut album that we recorded in a beach house in mollymook just got nominated for an ARIA.
Life’s funny man. So much love for my
@PolarisAus
lads, our incredible team and everyone involved in this record 🖤
Jamie said "Wall of Desk" cos he was thinking about saying "All the way to the sound desk" and now it's immortalised in a radio-recorded live set.
I will never let him forget this.
Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, and Riley Hawk, son of Tony Hawk and Cindy Dunbar, got married in a ceremony officiated by R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe:
Someone said to me last night that Taylor Swift represents the highest possible evolution of White Woman, the Final Boss of Live-Laugh-Love-ing, the Ultimate HorseGirl if you will, and I can’t stop thinking about that
Apparently last night I freestyle rapped for a bunch of security guards outside the Bulldog in Amsterdam. I love this city with every spore of my being 🍄
Never used to be a bracelet guy but I haven’t taken these off since. A couple of these are from another set given to us by another lovely person (forgot your tag, pls remind me so i can thank you again!) So sweet to carry these reminders of our fans generosity. Thank you Lexy!
I meant to post this before, but thank you to
@spencerstaken
for giving the bracelets to merch stand at the Atlanta
@PolarisAus
show. 🖤
Also, thank you babe and
@danfaznari
for the video. I hope everyone in the band really enjoyed the note I wrote. I mean all of it. 🥹

Billie Eilish says men don’t face criticism about their bodies because girls are nice:
“Nobody ever says a thing about men’s bodies. If you’re muscular, cool. If you’re not, cool. If you’re rail thin, cool. If you have a dad bod, cool. If you’re pudgy, love it! Everybody’s happy
Writing a pop song is one of the biggest risks a heavy band can take - fans are far more likely to respond negatively + there’s no guarantee of wider audience or $$. Odds of backfiring are far higher than odds of paying off. Think bands would do that if they didnt love the song?
