@TheDunkinHOnut @joshha2012 They’re all assets imo and nobody is truly untouchable. Maybe there’s a little more sentimental value in hanging onto Dana since he was a Perry draft pick, but when it comes to converting an expendable asset to acquire one of need, anything could be on the table.

@joshha2012 There’s also potentially Silseth & Bachman that could be pushing for MLB action in 2025 further justifying the liquidation of some of the pitching prospect stockpile. Could even be in the form of swapping pitching prospects for position player prospects.

@Pauliuskase All started with that epic draft in 2021. I realize of that group just Silseth has contributed to the Angels MLB efforts, and it’s been a small contribution, but that signaled a change in organizational focus. Build up a stockpile of young arms and develop them.

How much of Detmers struggles are mental? Or is it mechanical struggles that lead to inconsistent command? I don’t think I have the answer, but I’m reminded of just how masterful he was to start 2024 with 4 games started facing BAL/BOS/BOS/TBR 34.9% K 8.1% BB 1.19 ERA 0.97 WHIP

@PohleNoah Detmers has such a great ability to get K’s though. I’m hopeful Hendricks & Kikuchi help to set him straight. Hendricks has helped LHP Justin Steele grow into a stud and Kikuchi has a similar arsenal and also has grown beyond struggles similar to what Reid has experienced

@Khi_oken Soriano already proved he can get the whiffs out of the pen in 2023. Just like Jack, the Sinker was so good he leaned on it heavily to great effect. A lot like Hendricks over his career… heavy Sinker pitchers frequently outperform expected stats.

@Khi_oken Koch has the stuff to mix it up but that Sinker was so effective.. mixing it up and maybe adding another pitch will just be the icing on the cake that makes him a SP1. Hoping the presence of the Professor in the rotation helps Detmers with the mental side.

@BaseballGuy316 If ST goes well I would be happy with Kikuchi/Soriano/Detmers/Hendricks/Kochanowicz being the rotation.

@BaseballGuy316 I’m guessing Perry goes into ST with 6 SP and if all goes smoothly looks to trade TA to some team that’s lost a SP to injury

@ChuckRichter70 I really look forward to hearing more about this from Rendon himself, Perry or Ron. And of course seeing him in ST. Is he feeling up to being moved around the diamond? With Rengifo, Moncada & Rendon all subject to injuries it would make sense to schedule frequent maintenance days
