For this month, we’d like to highlight one of our internal programs: FRIENDS Gift Shops (FRIENDS)! FRIENDS is a board-governed, volunteer-staffed, nonprofit community organization that administers and manages four gift shops throughout @umichmedicine.

A HUGE shout-out to the @umichmedicine teams that worked with @Habitat_org recently to improve houses on the south side of Ypsilanti on Firwood St! These teams had a super productive time painting and installing widows / trim. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication!

CHS's Program for Multicultural Health received just over 150 donated supplies during the annual Family Supply Drive to assist families being served by IHN at Alpha House and the Sauk Trail Self Sufficiency Store to help them become more housing stable!

A HUGE congratulations to the Turner African American Services Council for organizing the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration event last weekend. We heard from CHS director, Alfreda Rooks, and fielded questions to graduate students from @umsocialwork and @umichsph.

CHS is happy to highlight @thehopeclinicmi as our grantee of the month! Based in Ypsilanti, Hope Clinic is poised to become the first free clinic in the nation to offer fully integrated care—all for the uninsured, all for free.

CHS has been showing their festive/generous spirit this holiday! Turner Senior Resource Center held a holiday party, AHI wrote holiday cards for AAMOW clients, AAMOW delivered poinsettas to clients, and PMCH is holding their Annual Family Supply Drive!

CHS highlights one of our new community geriatric programs: Silver Club Memory Programs! They promise a safe, stimulating environment for older adults with mild to moderate memory loss to participate in activities (music, art, fitness and more!), share stories, and have fun.

Physician assistants (PAs) provide care as primary care providers, assisting in surgery and practicing across a range of medical and surgical specialties. PAs at @umichmedicine have devoted many hours to community service organizations like @Habitat_org and @foodgatherers .
