Tip for easy gloves, trace the pattern on the fabric itself, sew along the line you traced and then cut it out.
You should get near perfect results every time & it's so much easier then cutting it then trying to sew it

Finished another Giorno jacket! This one is based a bit more on the SAS colors, but with a lighter pink. The color the client chose was really beautiful, it worked really well with the colors they wanted!

Tip for perfect lined inner corners (great for making scalloped edges as well)
Trim as close as humanly possible to your thread without snipping it. I usually use my smallest scissors for this. Then turn & press with your iron

I love that people are giving out tips, tricks & tools when it comes to cosplay/sewing, it's helped me so much when it comes to sewing/costume making.
But I think we need to consider actually explaining what a technique is or why someone should buy a tool when recommending it.

Really fantastic thread about the state of tutorials and posting sewing content online.
It truly feels like some people are posting "tutorials" for content, when they first learn something, rather then when they've mastered someone and have actual information to share.
Even five or so years ago you could learn all sorts of costume fundamentals online.
Now? Thanks to algorithm-feeding high turnover short form content, the internet is a different place, bloated with performative expertise and bad information.

Like, you can tell someone to press their seams but it doesn't help a newbie unless you explain that pressing your seams is when your iron your seams open, & doing that will not only make your garment look nicer, but fit better.

Finished something extremely cool today, Lucca's helmet from Chrono Trigger! The made base is foam covered with fabric, and the rest is done with foam & wire! Really fun break from sewing

Tip for anyone using a cricut/cameo to cut foam. If it doesnt cut through completely you can take a heat gun to it to make the cut pop out more to make it easier to remove
