“He would be abandoning his culture” Aang is the AVATAR, his culture does not take precedence over his primary responsibility which is to protect the world. The morally sound ethical route is not the only route he should take & Amon being born is an perfect example of why.
If you don’t understand the problem with this scene you are part of the problem in the conflict Aang faces. Aang isn’t only the Avatar, but one of the final survivors of his race. Him abandoning his morals as one of the last people in that culture completely disrespects it.
