It was with great pleasure that we kicked off the Jigawa State Government Citizen Engagement Programme (Gwamnati da Jama’a) yesterday in Auyo Local Government. It’s a simple idea—keeping our people informed, listening to them, and making sure they know what their government is doing for them. I shared updates on our work in Jigawa, and so did our commissioners, lawmakers, and local government officials. But the best part? Hearing directly from the people. They asked questions, shared their concerns, and we had real conversations about what matters to them. This is just the start! We’ll take the Programme to all 27 local government areas so that every community gets involved. Our administration is here to serve with honesty, progress, and open doors. Jigawa is moving forward, and we’re doing it together! #GwamnatiDaJamaa #JigawaProgress #Accountability #OpenGovernment

Today, at the Rural Electricity Agency State-By-State Roundtable in Abuja, we took a major step toward a cleaner, brighter future by signing a partnership with the Rural Electrification Agency @TheREANigeria. This agreement will expand access to affordable, sustainable power across Jigawa. We’re making history as the first state in Northwest Nigeria with a comprehensive Electricity Law and a dedicated Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy. With policies that attract investors and bold projects like the 1,000 MW Jigawa Solar Power Plan, we’re creating real opportunities for growth. With 11 hours of sunshine daily, Jigawa has some of the best conditions for solar energy in Nigeria. We’re open for business and ready to welcome investors and partners who want to be part of this transformation. The journey has just begun—let’s keep pushing forward! #RenewableEnergy #JigawaState #SustainableFuture #SolarPower #EnergyForAll

Assalamu Alaikum These past days have been filled with grief, but I have been deeply touched by the love, prayers, and support you’ve shown my family and me as we mourn the loss of my dear mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi, and my beloved son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi. Your visits, calls, messages, and prayers have brought us comfort and strength when we’ve needed it the most. It’s hard to put into words just how much your kindness and solidarity have meant to us during this painful time. I pray that Allah (SWT) blesses you all abundantly and grants peace to the souls of our loved ones. Thank you, and May Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) bless us all.

In a ceremony held at the council chamber of the government house, I signed Jigawa State’s 2025 budget into law. At ₦698.3 billion, it’s the largest in our history—and it’s not just a big number. It’s our plan to reshape Jigawa and make life better for everyone who calls it home. We’ve set aside 76% of this budget for capital projects. That’s not just a statistic—it’s our commitment to real change. Roads, schools, hospitals—these are the things that will drive growth and make daily life easier for all of us. I want to thank the Jigawa State House of Assembly for approving this budget on time. Their commitment shows how much they care about moving Jigawa forward. Now the real and hard part of this plan is putting it to reality. This isn’t something the executives can do alone. It’s going to take all of us—leaders, stakeholders, and communities. We have to work together to make sure this budget delivers results where they matter most. So let’s get to it. If we put our heads together, we can make this budget a reality and create a brighter future for Jigawa In Sha Allah. #Jigawa2025Budget #BuildingJigawa #StrongerTogether #JigawaState

Today, I presided over the signing of a partnership between Jigawa State, China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. (CAMCE), and the National Agricultural Development Fund (@nadfng) in Beijing, China. This agreement is a big step toward modernizing agriculture in Jigawa and creating real opportunities for our farmers and communities. It reflects our commitment to improving lives and building a stronger future for the state. The partnership will bring in better seeds, modern irrigation systems, and practical training for farmers to grow crops like sesame, soybean, and hibiscus more effectively. We’re also introducing advanced tools for cleaning, drying, and processing these crops. This will help our farmers meet international standards, add value to their harvests, and connect to both local and global markets. Sustainability is at the heart of this plan. We’re using renewable energy like solar and biogas to power irrigation systems and processing centers. This will lower costs, reduce environmental impact, and make farming more efficient. With CAMCE’s expertise and NADF’s support, we’re building a system that supports both the environment and the people who depend on it. This agreement is about more than farming—it’s about transforming Jigawa’s economy and securing a brighter future for its people. It will give farmers the tools and funding they need to grow their businesses while giving our produce a place on the global stage. This is the start of something great for Jigawa State. #SustainableFuture #SustainableFarming #JigawaState #FoodSecurity

This Saturday, I launched the distribution of micro retail shops to youths under the Jigawa State Micro Retailers Empowerment Initiative. As part of this program, we’re rolling out 300 retail shops across all the political wards in our state. But this is more than just handing out kiosks. It’s about giving our young people a real chance to build their lives and strengthen our local economy. Each shop comes fully stocked with essential items to help these entrepreneurs start their businesses right away. At the event held at Mallam Aminu Kano Triangle in Dutse, I shared why this program matters so much. It’s not just about giving out shops—it’s about giving people the tools they need to succeed. Along with the shops, we’re offering training to help these young business owners grow and thrive. This is a step toward turning their goals into reality and helping them become the backbone of our economy. This is just the beginning. We’re already preparing for more opportunities. In the 2025 budget, we’ve set aside over ₦7 billion for projects like business cooperatives, skills training, and micro-credit support. These efforts are aimed at creating real, lasting change for our people.

Yesterday was a truly remarkable day for Jigawa State—we officially launched the Greater Dutse Water Supply Project! This project has been a long-time dream, and I’m happy to see the dream of providing clean, reliable water to Dutse and nearby communities finally becoming a reality. I had the privilege of joining the Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Professor Joseph @JosephUtsev Utsev, for the ground-breaking ceremony at Sintilmawa, Ringim Local Government Area. This ₦59.5 billion collaboration between the Federal and Jigawa State governments is a game-changer, set to bring safe drinking water to over 1.5 million people. For years, water scarcity has been a huge hurdle for Dutse’s growth, affecting livelihoods, public health, and everyday life. But with this project, we’re turning the tide. When completed, 55 million liters of water will flow daily across a 56-kilometer pipeline network, transforming access to clean water for thousands of households. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to President @officialABAT Bola Ahmed Tinubu for keeping his promise. Back in 2023, he pledged to tackle Dutse’s water crisis, and today we’re seeing that promise come to life. His support and leadership have been instrumental in making this happen, and we are truly grateful. But this project is more than just pipelines and reservoirs—it’s about hope. Hope for healthier families, thriving businesses, and stronger communities. Together, we’re not just solving problems; we’re building a future our people deserve. #GreaterDutseWaterProject #JigawaRising #RenewedHope #BuildingOurFuture

Earlier today, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with @NewGlobeEdu, a global education solution organization to transform our basic education system for the benefit of our children and their future. The initiative tagged "JIGAWAUNITE' is designed to transform basic education as a foundation of our entire education system, just as we are improving post basic and tertiary education in the state. This isn’t just another government project, it's a real solution to the challenges holding our children back. JigawaUnite is about flipping a script by improving literacy and numeracy, equipping our teachers with modern tools, and strengthening the bond between schools and communities. To get things rolling, over 1,000 schools—half of Jigawa’s basic schools—are part of the first phase. The rest will be overseen by state education teams, adding a little friendly competition to keep everyone on their toes. Education has always been at the heart of our 12-point agenda, and JigawaUnite builds on the momentum we’ve already created. From launching Jigawa COMPETE for secondary schools to introducing technical and vocational education, we’re investing in every stage of learning to make sure no child is left behind. This is the kind of future we’re building for Jigawa. One day, I believe we’ll look back on this as the moment we decide to change the game for our children. I received the management of Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development @ncwd_abuja under the leadership of the centre's Director General Hon. Asabe Bilita Bashir, on a courtesy call at the government house Dutse. They were in Jigawa State to officially open the North West zonal office of the centre located here in Dutse. This isn’t just a milestone for Jigawa; it’s a real turning point for women and children across the region. This centre is all about creating opportunities. Women can now gain hands-on training, pick up new skills, and even explore trades like electrical works and plumbing—fields where we know more women deserve a seat at the table. The centre will also tackle serious issues like gender-based violence, push for more women in politics, and help women thrive economically. Jigawa is home to the very first zonal office of its kind in the country. That speaks volumes about how much we value initiatives that genuinely uplift people. And we’re not stopping here—our commitment is to make sure this centre succeeds and makes a lasting impact on lives across the Northwest. This isn’t just about one project; it’s about reimagining what’s possible for Jigawa. Together, we’re building something truly transformative. #EmpoweringWomen #GreaterJigawa #BuildingOurFuture

Today, I signed the Jigawa State Electricity Regulatory Commission Law. This a milestone achieved in our journey to ensure supply of adequate and sustainable electricity across Jigawa State. With this law, the Jigawa State Electricity Regulatory Commission is officially in business, ready to oversee everything from power generation to distribution. This isn’t just about policies and paperwork. It’s about making sure families have reliable power when they need it, and creating an environment where bold ideas and private investments can thrive. Whether it’s grid systems, renewable energy, or off-grid solutions, we’re putting Jigawa on the path to meeting its growing energy demands in smart, sustainable ways. The wheels for this progress started turning earlier this year when we launched the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy. That was a big step forward, but today feels even bigger. With this law in place, we’re strengthening the framework to build partnerships, improve infrastructure, and make energy work better for everyone—not just today, but for years to come.

Today, I presented the 2025 Budget of Innovation & Transformation for Greater Jigawa—a bold and ambitious plan of N698.3 billion—to the Jigawa State House of Assembly. This budget isn’t just about figures; it’s about building a self-reliant, prosperous Jigawa where every citizen has a chance to thrive. Highlights of the budget includes: 1. N90.76 billion for personnel costs. This will cover the new N70,000 minimum wage and bring in fresh talent to strengthen our education and healthcare systems. 2. N63.69 billion will go to recurrent expenses, supporting essentials like scholarships, feeding programs, and utilities. 3. N534.76 billion—the lion’s share—will drive capital investments in the areas of roads and infrastructure, agriculture, health, education and power and Renewable energy. Agriculture leads the way with over N136 billion, underscoring its importance to food security, job creation, and economic growth. Education is also a top priority, with N120 billion focused on giving our children the tools to succeed. On Healthcare, we’re investing over N40 billion, including a transformative medical village with a diagnostic and cardiac center. To tackle youth unemployment, we’re dedicating over N20 billion to empowerment programs that open doors to opportunities. We’re also addressing climate resilience with N16.8 billion earmarked for flooding and erosion control. And for housing, N10.72 billion will fund affordable homes under the Mass Housing Program. This isn’t just a plan; it’s a commitment to progress and a shared vision for a brighter future. Together, we’ll make Jigawa a state we can all be proud of. Let’s keep moving forward! #GreaterJigawa #2025Budget #JigawaState

Meeting Hajara Ahmad Hussain today was truly inspiring! This brilliant young woman from Jigawa State has made us all proud by winning the @bbchausa #Hikayata2024 competition. She’s proof that when we empower our youth, especially girls, the possibilities are endless. In Jigawa, we’ve made education free for girls and people living with disabilities—from primary school all the way to university. To honor Hajara’s incredible achievement, we’re supporting her with a full scholarship at Sule Lamido University and a ₦2 million grant. #GirlChildEducation #YouthEmpowerment #JigawaState #EducationForAll #Inspiration #HausaHikayata2024 #JigawaOnline #EqualOpportunities #WomenInEducation #BreakingBarriers

Yesterday Friday, We launched two environmentally impactful projects that will directly improve the lives of thousands in Jigawa State. This is a collaboration between Jigawa State government and the World Bank through the ACReSAL program, we’re tackling pressing environmental issues and bridging gaps in essential services. The first project focuses on building 47 solar-powered boreholes in Birnin Kudu, Gumel, and Hadejia LGAs. These boreholes will bring clean drinking water to over 100,000 people—a necessity no one should go without. The second takes on the serious problem of gully erosion in the Danmasara-Kalgo/Yalwawa area of Dutse. With ₦10.88 billion set aside for this effort, we’re reclaiming over 400 hectares of land to protect homes, farms, and roads that have been at risk for years. To support vulnerable residents, we’re also rolling out a goat-breeding program to help improve livelihoods. One of the projects will deliver clean, reliable water to over 100,000 people in Birnin Kudu, Gumel, and Hadejia LGAs. By constructing 47 solar-powered boreholes, we’re taking a big step toward ensuring these communities no longer have to struggle for safe drinking water.
