Hi #PortfolioDay I’m Tyler, a 2x Emmy-nominated photojournalist and freelance artist specializing in paleoart and creature design. I also dabble in 2D animation, and do sci-comm on TikTok. My plate is full right now, but I’m planning to take more commissions in 2025. Stay tuned!

@Riamus01 You were watching the weird love child of a cooky French director and a meat-and-potatoes Joss Whedon script in the form of an Alien movie. NGL I kind of love Resurrection when I’m in the right mood for it. When I’m not though… hoooo boy it’s rough.

@Bugimus @BestCryptids It’s pareidolia. All the “anatomical detail” is in the eye of the beholder. Patty is a tiny part of a low-quality 16mm film frame. You can read just about any detail you want into it when you blow it up that much.

@Riamus01 Considering how famously troubled (to put it mildly) the production was, I think it’s a minor miracle that the movie is even watchable at all, let alone decent. Yes, I am an Alien 3 apologist 😅

@skeletaldrawing Never thought I’d see a real T. rex that actually looks like the one from Jurassic Park, but… I’ll be damned.

@brenenwynd I would very much prefer scientifically-accurate designs, but I can get onboard with something that at least looks cool. I’ll take a swing and a miss over safe and boring.

@brenenwynd Yeah it’s a bit much, but I think the body is pretty solid for a titanosaur, yes? Tbh, after 3 movies of dumpy gray herbivores, I’m thrilled to have a design that’s actually visually interesting and inspired, even if it maybe goes a bit too far in the other direction.

RT @WedgeDAntilles: And not to mention, Jurassic Park was always marketed as having real and realistic dinosaurs. A lot of Paleontologists…

@FabioAleRomero If it had remained the only big gray theropod with spines and osteoderms and exposed croc teeth, I think it would be easier for people to internalize it as an imaginary monster. But when the Baryonyx, Allosaurus, and Giganotosaurus all do the same thing, they all blur together.
