Finally I can talk about the most feral we’ve ever gone on a song, and how it’s so funny that it’s on a Christmas record
After writing and recording December ‘04, it felt a little lonely leaving it as a Christmas single. So we also recorded some songs we’ve performed at Christmas Shows Past, a couple more we wish we could’ve, and a 2nd original. Christmas never ends!! :)

A cycle four years in the making. When we first started writing these EPs

and I (naively) thought they’d be lighthearted, fun, easy. A return to the more carefree “throw stuff at the wall” approach of TTDDV, after the painstaking process of Dear Wormwood. Hahah nope
Tender leaves breaking through concrete. Mountain rivers surging with the first thaw. At last, Zephyrus brings a gentle warmth that summons up a new year of growth rooted in the fertile ashes of all the structures that keep us isolated and unfeeling.

One of my favorite bits of this new recording of HMOH is the atmospheric noise — a crackling fireplace, wind through pines outside, etc.
The original was super noisy on accident, so this time we made it noisy on purpose!
