The TPSSHOF is sadddned to hear that Cincinnati Moeller HS legendary football coach Gerry Faust has died at the age of 89. He welcomed @JesuitDallasFB to Nippert Stadium on 9/22/78 when multiple Texas publics turned down the chance. Moeller won 37-7.

Congratulations to one of our inaugural Hall of Fame class members, Gary Kubiak. It will be the Touchdown Club's 59th consecutive year to recognize a great, local contributer to the sport. We should have our honoree award in by that time!

6/21/1979: The son of former Waco Mayor Bob Sheehy, @BishopReicher alum Jack Sheehy, ended up at McLennan CC for '80-81 before transferring to SFA in '82-83. Was the Lone Star Conference singles champion in '83, but lost in the 2nd round of the NCAA D2 tournament.

6/18/1999: Kim and Camille Pouncy won eight individual and four relay state titles between the two of them for Dallas @BishopDunne from '95 to '98 in the midst of the Falcons' great track run. Camille, unfortunately, passed away in 2015, and their father Gene followed in 2020.

Best wishes to inaugural @txpvtsportshof member Raevyn Rogers @TheROYALlife21 from @KinkaidAthletic as she competes in the 800 meters at the U.S. Olympic Trials this weekend. First round (which includes 36 athletes) is on Friday. Semifinals are on Sunday and finals on Monday.

6/5/2003 - While Logan Ondrusek would not sign with the Astros, he played two seasons for McLennan CC and then was taken in the 13th round by the Orioles. The 6'8" hurler had five strong years with the Reds (2010-14) where he went 22-11 in 288 games of middle inning relief.
