How I helped a B2C Business make 18% more sales in 25% less time A Detailed Case Study: ---- If someone asked you What’s the biggest factor that determines a business’s success? What will you answer? To me the answer is simple SPEED! A lot of businesses use complicated processes in their day-to-day tasks Result? Their entire process slows down They lose opportunities and make fewer sales One of my clients, a prominent B2C company had the same issue. Here’s the entire case study: --- Problem The client received a surge of online leads during their peak season Their existing process was • Slow • Manual • Error Prone This resulted in lost opportunities and a lot of inefficiencies in the Sales process. They needed a seamless and reliable system to capture and manage leads so that their sales team can focus on doing what they do best: Closing Deals. --- Action I helped them integrate their website with Salesforce to automate their lead capture process. This meant any customer data input on their site was instantly mapped to Salesforce which transformed it into a potential lead. This allowed for: • Better accuracy • Less manual data entry • Real-time lead generation Thus, the sales team was free to do their core task: Closing more deals --- Result After implementing the changes, we started seeing noticeable improvements. The Sales team noticed a 25% increase in time available for customer engagement. This increased the total deal closed by 18% in the first year. Due to better data accuracy, they were able to target specific types of people, thus increasing the conversion rates by 10% --- This was a breakdown of one of the most common problems with most businesses. Starting an agency after failing my first business wasn't easy at all... I was too afraid to: ↳Fail again ↳Be clueless again ↳Repeat the same mistakes again Moreover, I was in the most comfortable spot of my life. In the job I quit, I: ↳Made $165,000 per year ↳Already knew what I was supposed to do ↳Was comfortable in the back seat whenever I wasn't needed Starting an agency would mean I'll have to take care of: ↳Hiring ↳Sales Call ↳Lead Generation ↳Content Creation ↳Client Conversations ↳And most importantly Results! All alone. Without the team environment, I was so used to. If it seemed this difficult, why did I do it? I do sometimes wonder about it but certain reasons are: ↳My command over soft skills ↳My confidence in Salesforce Skills ↳My already established brand on LinkedIn ↳My connections in the Salesforce Industry ↳My DMs that already had job & consulting offers and most importantly, My wife, who practically pushed me to make the decision since she knew this was what I wanted to do deep down: own a business. If you have any such desire that's buried inside you due to a failure, a mishap, or your current situation, I hope you realize what it is (or get a partner who figures this out for you) and get a chance to live it. There’s a simple hack to achieve anything in your career: Add more value. (Yes, that simple!) Want to get a promotion? ↳Add more value. Want to live more freely as a Freelancer? ↳Add more value. Want to make more money as a Business? ↳Add more value. Don’t believe me? Take Salesforce for example… Salesforce is the Number 1 CRM in the world… Not because it’s marketed as the best CRM or it’s in trend these days… It’s because it adds more value to businesses than whatever they’re giving up to Automate it. Similarly, businesses pay us consultants to work on their processes not because they can’t figure it out… It’s because outsourcing Salesforce Automation will free up time and energy for them and their employees… This means they get more value by hiring consultants than by figuring out Salesforce themselves. Among consultants, those who add the most value, get paid the most. So, the lesson is: As long as you can add more value, you stay irreplaceable. And when you're irreplaceable, you get rewarded. A productivity hack that works wonders for me: Time blocking. Here's how it works: When I start working on a task, I set up two fixed time limits for myself. The two limits are called the soft time box and the hard time box. When a soft time box ends, I get alert and try to finish whatever I am doing... But when a hard time box ends, I drop everything, stop doing what I do, take a break, or move on to the next point on the agenda. The psychology behind this is simple... Humans have short attention spans. I've observed that I start most tasks on a high note. But soon the energy starts going down... As soon as the soft time box ends, I realize I have limited time to finish this task. This gives a boost to my energy and I can perform much better. But here's the tricky part... If you want to maximize your productivity using this method, you'll have to follow these rules: ↳Keep the time physically near you (clock, stopwatch, timer, etc.) ↳Do not commit upfront time extensions while working ↳Stop when the time ends or break when you hit x mins ↳Move around and get outside if possible every x mins ↳Announce the time you plan to spend ahead of time ↳Plan for 5-15 min breaks every x mins After following these rules religiously, I've observed these benefits: ↳Measurable progress: Have clear results ↳Better Results: Literally forces results out of you ↳Better Focus: Stay focused and do the important stuff ↳More Freshness: Stay innovative and productive, even on the next day ↳Predictability: Ability to have appointments right after a work sprint, because you know exactly when it ends That's it for today's post. If you ever try time blocking, let me know how it went. If this post was helpful, please share it with your network and make sure you follow me for more posts like this. As a Salesforce consultant, I work from the comfort of my home. I've observed I stay more productive on the days when I: ↳Have clear goals to work on ↳Work in a structured manner ↳Create a to-do list the night before ↳Follow the routine I've built for myself ↳Have a dedicated workspace free from distractions Have you observed something like this? Feel free to share it in the comments🔽 That's it for today's post. If you enjoyed this one, please share it with your network and make sure you follow me for more posts like this.
