The @OpenAI #DevMeet in Delhi yesterday featured a fireside chat with Sam Altman (CEO of OpenAI) and @AshwiniVaishnaw (Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, Electronics & Information Technology, Government of Bharat). Much of the conversation was focused on social impact 🚀🚀 India is OpenAI's second-largest market, with @ChatGPTapp user numbers tripling in the past year - and the opportunities are immense. India is s biggest market so we're excited by the potential to help solve some of the population-scale challenges using OpenAI models across healthcare, education, and critical services. Some insights from the #firesidechat were: 1. India is a leader in the AI revolution Startups, entrepreneurs and researchers in India are pioneering cost-effective solutions that address population-scale challenges. 2. If you can solve problems for India, you can solve them for the world. Ashwini called upon the startup and developer community to contribute and build unique solutions to help solve some of these pressing issues and mentioned a competition that will be launched soon. 3. The future of work Deep research can do a single digit percent of the economically valuable tasks in the world and almost none of the complete jobs. Sam shared a thought-provoking perspective on the future of work, indicating that while AI can handle lower-value tasks, and not necessarily the ‘brilliant insights’, it can significantly increase the efficiency of many sectors - “Imagine doubling the efficiency of every scientist in the world”. s existing OpenAI integration is just the beginning of how we can address critical #socialchallenges at scale using Chat.
