It’s so rare that I wear smart clothes, that leaving the house in my suit this morning got two court date jokes and a massive car honk from three separate neighbours before I’d even made it to the end of my road.

Sad to hear news of Peter Brötzmann. His power and ferocity preceded him, and what struck me the number of times I was lucky to hear him play, was how lyrical and subtle his sound also was. Each gig still completely memorable and totally distinct. So many great records. RIP.
