Even in Thomas' first years of publication, his creator Wilbert Awdry was already getting interviews, such as in John Bouverie's Journal Fun Fact: Whilst Troublesome Engines would be published in Sept 1950, Awdry had already written it by Dec 1949! Daily News London, 8 Dec 1949
