Deep breath. What ever Fiona becomes (post tropical/hurricane) when it arrives it is going to bring HIGH winds for 8-12+hours and driving rain, especially in the east. Please please stay away from the coast. 6-8 meter waves are expected off the coast.

Lee is no Fionna but Lee is no joke. Lee will become post tropical as it makes landfall in the Maritimes SAT. Heavy rain, gusty winds & higher than normal waves. Lee will enter the Gulf of St. Lawrence SUN. That give some areas 14-18 hours worth of heavy rain and high winds.
Hurricane Fiona is a Cat 1 hurricane. This is the current forecast track from
@NHC_Atlanticin
. The ATL coast of NS will certainly get waves from Fiona. The question is, will Fiona's approach be closer to the NS coast line? Keeping👀on Fiona

Post Tropical Storm Lee is maintaining Cat 1 hurricane strength with winds of 120km/h off the coast. On land the winds are gusty and the rain is now heavy in NB. Winds will continue to gust all afternoon/evening. We're not done yet.

The track of Lee from the
@NHC_Atlantic
is a little further to the west than yesterday's track. This would mean landfall in NB/ME rather than NS. Regardless of the track, NS/NB/PEI plan for heavy rain, gusty winds and higher waves along the coast.

Lee is a Cat3 hurricane. FRI Lee will approach the NS coast as post tropical storm. This is the track from
@NHC_Atlantic
which could change between now and then. Regardless of the track, Maritimers should prepare for heavy rain SAT&SUN, gusty winds and higher than normal waves.
Buckle up, The winds will continue to increase and so will the intensity of the rain. 50-80+mm of rain in the rainfall areas expected with gusts near 100km/h in the wind warning areas. Storm surge possible this evening.

Think of the volunteers and Firefighters today. Hot, windy and dry. Daytime high records will be broken. Risks of t-storms in NB. Chances for showers on Friday with accumulating rain on Saturday.

I love my daughter’s puppy Gerdie but there were times ... Over the winter she dug at all four counters of the pool and a new liner is on the way. A frog decided to join us yesterday, it was all good until the frog started playing with Gerdie’s ball. Enjoy the weekend! Ribbit 🐸

Torrential rain & thunderstorms are rumbling across parts of Mainland NS. These T-storms are capable of producing 25-35 mm of rain per hour. Downpours could cause flash flooding especially in areas that have been compromised from previous storms. Not fun to drive in.

Brutally cold wind chills this afternoon through tomorrow morning. WCs will fall between -30 to -45 or below. Where the winds blow onshore, snowsqualls are possible. In squalls 10-15 cm of snow could fall. Blowing snow will also reduce visibilities.

The first significant snow for Mainland NS. An area of low pressure will track south of NS. This will keep the province in the cold sector of the storm however, the rain/snow line will hug the NS coastline. This could limit the snowfall amounts along the Atlantic coast.

Another Nor'easter brining heavy snow to NS and high winds. PEI will feel the winds and get some snow, but NB will come out of this with less snow and wind. Heaviest of snow will fall tonight but the system moves in this AM in the west.
