He was fact-checking the debunked lie that Palestinians beheaded 40 babies in their cribs. This lie is based on racism, dehumanizes Palestinians and sets the stage for their genocide in Gaza, which we are watching unfold.

When the UN COI made its report in March 2019, none of the groups or people peddling these lies apologized or retracted their statements. I was vindicated. But after what?

Concerned doctors saw these posts and privately wrote to University of Ottawa >2 weeks ago requesting action. Their demands are simple: immediate action to stop abuse of students; accountability; transparency. The university has not yet responded or acknowledged the messages.

My colleagues in Gaza talk about the terror of knowing they are targets while carrying out their Oath to heal. It's simultaneously tragic and infuriating to watch it happen. #NotATarget

The first part of a harassment campaign is a group willing to create a mob and direct its energies. Journalists have reported on several such initiatives. Below is a message in one group specific to medical students seeking to target an essential part of their medical education.

The solution is to turn our backs on the @NDP , and engage from the outside on our terms - terms that endorse and respect human rights, even for brown people.

The student was harassed in out of school activities and is still being actively harassed, with people trying to damage his future career prospects in various ways. This continuation of harassment is why I've filed complaints against participants in the campaign.

Mine is a story familiar to the oppressed everywhere. Black person get choked to death for selling loosies? Yeah, cops probably killed him. 99% sure before I hear anything more. Because that's what they've done before. That's what we've seen after most independent investigations.

The University of Ottawa is aware of these letters and has not yet taken any action. Dr. Kirshen remains the PD. She remains in charge of the CaRMS process. UOttawa has not said anything publicly or privately. Not one word in response to the complaint, even to acknowledge them!

And so the same people who rushed to judgment, spewed propaganda without pause (including the debunked 40 decapitated baby claim) and used those things to dehumanize Palestinians are now urging pauses and caution and waiting for all the facts.

The CaRMS process is well under way. If you applied to Derm at UOttawa, you are most likely in an unfair process based on your political views, not your clinical abilities and personality traits. At this point, file reviews, interviews and selection all have to be redone.

It is almost certain that the Israelis fired the munition that caused these deaths and injuries. However, the dehumanization, propaganda and gaslightling live in the very remote possibility that there is another explanation.

Our medical colleagues in Gaza who were arrested grew dramatically to 41, with some of the kindest, most compassionate human beings among them. They must be freed immediately to prevent further abuse and torture. #NotATarget . Thanks to @HCWWatch for tracking, compiling victims.

The hope is that by filing these complaints we can stop the harassment campaigns and the unprofessional, unethical behaviour that drives them both at Western and across Canada. If you see bad behaviour such as this and want to report it, my DMs are open.
