with pride. I have experienced homophobia as a medical student, doctor, and patient. It’s not always easy to know who you can trust, or confide in in medicine. Small signs help make those who are most vulnerable feel more safe 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️
I am a consultant physician in HIV medicine, seeing patients throughout the pandemic inc those who are vulnerable with cancer or having had transplants.
I’ve had 3 COVID vaccines because they are effective, safe, and protect against severe illness and death.

so, I’m actually not very good at this but, having been told a long time ago I wouldn’t succeed, this boy from a Cornish comp has worked hard and is, finally, thanking everyone for their support, and very proud to be graduating today as Doctor of Medicine

#AIDS2022
has been special for me as it marks my 20years of living & thriving w HIV. This conf is a space, not just to follow science, but to be an advocate, & connect w the global HIV family. So proud to be part of it & the energy has been palpable, thanks to all of you! 🤩❤️
30 years ago we lost Freddie Mercury '200 degrees, that's why they call me Mr Fahrenheit' 🥰 the next day I had my interview for medical school. Little did I know the personal and professional journey I would have in the field of HIV and AIDS; I wouldn't change a thing ❤️
this was absolutely my favourite slide from
@mugecevik
stellar plenary presentation - 'PEOPLE are NOT the drivers of transmission, rather it is their UNMET needs'. So essential, so true, so much to do 👏👏👏
#CROI2022
honoured, delighted, slightly overwhelmed, immensely relieved & very excited to’ve been offered a substantive post
@ICDCRoyalFree
@RoyalFreeNHS
- really does feel like the perfect post - I am looking forward to work ahead, for our team, Trust &, most of all, our amazing patients
Every single death of a young trans person, I expect you
@wesstreeting
to personally attend the funeral.
You ‘talk’ to trans communities, then see the aftermath of your choices & sit with their friends & families. Knowing this was preventable, it was ur choice, ur politics
I have spent years assessing competency, ability to consent, & prescribing hormones w poss serious side effects to 14/15yo for contraception. I support good healthcare & the right for young adults to be supported to make choices about their own lives, not this
#TransLivesMatter
up with the dawn but it’s a day worth celebrating - three years since I married this one - couldn’t be happier, and wouldn’t be where I am without my wingman - love you P ❤️ - happy anniversary! (Leather, apparently...)
sometimes it blows you away. Undetectable equals untransmissable. Changed lives for two patients today. One couldn’t believe it, the other brought their new partner and they *both* feel much more reassured in their new relationship. Incredible. 🥰

6 years ago we got married in this very Town Hall. Now, in the month of Pride, and in advance of the first ever Deal Pride in July, am so proud to see this. LGB always with the T. Stronger together, and still so much to fight for ❤️ 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️
photos follow tomorrow (especially of

after 2 crazy weeks of house moving and unpacking, finally some peace in the morning sun... 26 years of hoping to live next to one of my favourite places in London - added bonus is - I work on the other side of it too! Finally we made it - sometimes dreams do come true ❤️🌈☀️
Sometimes, even when you don't know you need it, things happen out of pure love. We had thistles in our wedding buttonholes, and in my hotel room in Glasgow my husband arranged to leave a card, in addition to the national Scottish flower. Love you P xx

#hivglasgow
I don’t think, as a child, you ever believe you will actually shed tears at an election. But I am weeping. For the divisive wedge driven between us all. For choosing self, greed, the past, nationalism - all above sharing, including, helping, caring... is this who ‘we’ are, still?
it's a wrap from me. Thank you all
#AIDS2022

spending an hour on stage with the Legend that is Dr Anthony Fauci - DON'T MISS! 🤩👏🥰
Can’t really even countenance this. It’s… too big. It’s too much. I can’t see that in the HIV sector we don’t need the *essential* service that aidsmap provides. Very sad news indeed and thank you so much to all have worked so hard to deliver such amazing content for so long 😢
We are incredibly proud of the millions we've reached worldwide and the grassroots ingenuity and commitment of our team and partners. 🌍❤️
Today we announce some very sad news.

including editorial by

HIV numbers in Malta continue to climb & unlike many other comparable countries it’s in MSM at younger ages… strangely, PrEP is still not free 😡 come on
@MaltaGov
- you have the power to STOP HIV transmissions & end AIDS. Every new diagnosis is someone you’ve failed 😞
Islatravir implant being developed for PrEP uses same inserter as Nexplanon - should make it easy for integrated sexual health services to administer if becomes available?

Most importantly am so moved by the authentic, real, deeply moving personal testimonies I am lucky enough to hear on a daily basis. This is the biggest privilege, one I could never have..
it was our first time in years. I hear the criticisms but, on the street, I saw London awash with colour. People talking to each other. And gay, queer, and trans people from all walks of life celebrating who they are. All walks of life. An immensely
