We were delighted to welcome HRH The Princess Royal (Master of Trinity House) to the newly-modernised Lundy North

in the Bristol Channel, where she met staff from the project team to learn about the upgraded aid to navigation systems and the challenges overcome!
As Master of Trinity House and a keen

visitor, a trip to Lundy Island by HRH The Princess Royal would not be complete without a visit to Lundy South Lighthouse and a tour around the station by our proud team.
It is with sadness that the Master, the Court and the staff of Trinity House mark the passing of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.
"On behalf of the Court and the staff, we are deeply grateful to His Royal Highness and bid him a peaceful rest.”

Join us and other aids to navigation authorities around the world to recognise the importance of aids to navigation and the people that keep them operational for the safety of all mariners.
@SkokholmIsland
We are sorry that this happened. Looking into it, the helicopter is supposed to fly south of Skokholm when flying to Smalls Lighthouse to avoid disturbing the birds. We are now making improvements to the helicopter plan to ensure that pilots are reminded prior to flying.
Today is HRH The Princess Royal’s birthday.
In 2011 HRH took over from her father as Master of Trinity House; her support and her willingness to explore our far-flung lighthouses have been a welcome constant ever since.
Happy birthday Ma’am.

THVs Galatea and Patricia carried out a routine lightvessel exchange at Sevenstones over the weekend.
First Officer Paul shared these photos!
Patricia towed a replacement LV from Harwich for Galatea to set up in its Assigned Position; Patricia then towed the other vessel away.
We remember the Trinity House people who lost their lives and those who buoyed sea lanes, piloted ships and lit the lights, as well as the seafarers who kept supplies moving.
Spare a thought also for the many seafarers working today during a different type of crisis.

'What do THVs Galatea and Patricia when we see them around our coast?'
They spend a lot of time servicing buoys at sea, often lifting, inspecting, cleaning and putting them back down. Sometimes a buoy needs to come ashore for a full refurbishment, which is what you can see here.
To make sure that

lanes in our waters remain free of hazardous shipwrecks, Trinity House has a duty to mark and sometimes remove obstructive wrecks, using our distinctive Emergency Wreck Buoys
