If you did your hand picking test and mechanical harvest on the same hybrids would be interesting. My thought is mechanical harvest is aggressive and the dust and bits of broken kernels are blown out the back and not visible on the ground. I always gain at least 3 lbs of TW harvesting at 21% and air drying in the bin. Elevator shrink at 21% will add up fast. My elevator shrinks 1.5% and charges drying on the wet. Shrink in the bin has almost no loss because of TW increase.
