I suspect Rio didn't have a clue where Salah was at Saka's age. He had moved continent, won a league title, got to a cup final, and made the semi-finals of the Europa League whilst also being the top scorer in African World Cup qualifying. Football exists outside the PL.

When I'm on my travels, I often get asked for advice where/how etc. Some ask how to do Dortmund/Bayern type games where tickets are difficult. I often advise Poland. Flights are plentiful. Tickets are around €15, and atmospheres are usually very good, especially Legia.

I very rarely question my sanity, but rocking up and paying £30 for a ticket, not to mention being in probably the most expensive country in Europe to watch two of the worst teams in the world has pushed even my level.

If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful football weekend, you can't go wrong in Porto. More than half the top flight clubs are within an hour of the city, plus half a dozen 2nd Division grounds. Plus everything is way cheaper than Spain, especially match tickets. 🇵🇹
