How can anyone hate Thiem. Always knows what to say. Bubliks comment def came across as disrespectful but Thiem is quick to not call him out but says its possible something was lost in translation. Not assuming the worst of someone is a super kind and respectful trait.

Well sadly that’s the rule. Gotta play to the speed of the server. If she plays slower than Gauff when Gauff is serving she’s gonna get penalized. She can do what she wants on her serve as long as she obeys the serve clock.
That’s my take. She deserved those time violations imo

The WTA needs to review not just that awful statement but the entire situation. How did TWO people miss a call THAT obvious? And Toth's behavior on court during/after the situation AND comments afterward. Appalling, horrendous doesnt even BEGIN to describe this situation.

Wimbledon 2019. The final ever tournament (at any level!) where the big 3 were the last 3 standing. Got a fantastic Fedal four set SF then an outstanding 5 set final between Federer and Djokovic.
FO 2021. The final tournament (bar Laver 22) at any level to feature ALL of big 3.

Dude says he was shaking vs Djokovic yet plays a masterclass of a service game. Goes for a dropper seconds after missing one, follows it up with a PERFECT lob. Then the stretch volley on the next point!!!! Insane. And how he held his nerve from 30-30 on...amazing.

Thiem's downfall has been so sad to watch :(
This man was playing grand slam semis/finals, beating big 3 guys at slams, and other events in final set tiebreaks (Novak never loses those but lost 2 to Thiem in 2 seasons) now Domi cant even win at challenger level.

Tomorrow could be one of the busiest days in Wimbledon history. Organizers should really consider a 10 or 10:30am start for outside courts and 11/11:30am for Centre and No. 1 and schedule 4 matches instead of 3 for those 2 courts….

And of those 3, Dino did the best at staying tough physically, he was the only of the three who did not physically fade after 1 or 2 sets.
Draper won the first but was one way traffic thereafter, and after Rune cramped in set 3 that one was over.

Alcaraz should have been the 3pm match. Really bad scheduling decisions in Miami. Pegula Rybakina semi should be played on friday, same day as Cirstea vs winner of Kvitova-Alexandrova.

De Minaur made similar comments during AO 2022 and Novak beat him 6-2 6-1 6-2 with a hauntingly terrifying beatdown. Anyone who has made negative comments about Novak (especially about vaccines), watch out. Novak will freaking EAT YOU ALIVE. DeMin and Marton learned the hard way.

I cant see anyone beating Djokovic at Wimbledon this year, but after this week Alcaraz is definitely a solid number 2 favourite for Wimbledon. Very shaky opening round match but found a way to win that and has only gotten better since then.

Good Tormo is out of singles after yesterday asking for a default. I dont usually hate like this but that was such a horrible thing to do. If I were a pro I wouldnt want to win like that. Not to mention making another player feel MORE guilty than she already was.

Ive never seen someone play that well while crying that much. Apart from maybe the final game of USO 21 Djokovic cried on the final changeover realizing he let the calendar slam slip the one time he had the full crowd on his side. Played a decent return game but Meddy did enough

Imo if it becomes a rule, it should still be allowed if its within the 25 second time limit or if there's a crowd member yelling out to purposely distract the player

Rune needs to figure out how to manage his body in multiple lengthy matches.
Sinner needs to be mentally tougher. Wim 22 - FO 23 lost in 5th sets (one from 2 sets up and 2 from MP up in the 4th). Wim 23 went 0/6 on BP, hitting errors on most.
This is a genuine coin toss imo...

Then again, Nadal in FO finals is unbeatable. Even more so than Novak in AO, Rafas never been taken to 5 sets, Novak has been taken to 5 sets twice in AO finals

2 years ago won a set vs Djokovic on grass, and note Djokovic hasnt lost on grass since 2018 and Novak had match point in that loss (which was vs peak Cilic).
Really sad to see this collapse from Matteo. Hoping he can improve in time for Wimbledon.
