UNCLE! For the first time in over a week I am home in the evening with my family. The last few weeks and especially this week the weather has put up a big fight. Floods, tornadoes, hail, wind etc., we have been hammered but not beaten. We Okies are pretty dang tough!

Completely not true. I’ve issued countless severe and tornado warnings over my career. Issued my own tornado warning yesterday for part of Ellis county. Why? I had a two tornadoes on the ground live. No warning from the NWS. My

Oklahoma had a daily record number of tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings on Saturday. The NWS in Norman issued 62 tornado warnings alone in their coverage area beating out the old record of 47 tornado warnings from May, 30, 1999.

BIG STORMS likely tomorrow afternoon and evening across parts of Oklahoma. All the ingredients are coming together for severe weather with the risk of large hail, high winds, & low tornado risk. These will develop west of metro & move in early evening. The latest at 10.

MARIETTA TORNADO UPDATE: The Marietta tornado from Saturday has been upgraded to EF-4 status with max winds at 170 MPH. The long, violent tornado was on the ground for 27 miles.
