Ahtisaari’s plan, backed unanimously by the political spectrum of that era, except VV, then an apolitical movement who opposed it, mandated this. Thanks to it, we now also have 10 out of 120 parliamentary seats reserved exclusively for Serbs.

@MarkUrban01 Why is that surprising? You can’t expect people to risk their lives for a country that’s been made unfamiliar, unsafe, and unwelcoming to them. If the system strictly forbids patriotism, why would they fight for it? I wouldn’t either.

@xhemajl_rexha You and your colleagues are confident in calling out Kurti and his party - which is justified in this case. But that confidence disappear when it comes to other parties. Are you afraid? After all, they don’t exactly handle criticism in the most democratic way, do they?

Honestly, I was hoping for a total deadlock - no one able to form a government, stalling dialogue with Serbia, and avoiding damage under a “Grenellian” Trump administration. Given the circumstances, this is a solid election result. Let the chaos begin!

@KokalariEvi Back in 2021, VV had 41% in the exit polls but ended up with 51% when the real counting was done. This is the real deal. With only a quarter of the votes counted, VV is off to the strongest possible start. The opposition popped the 🍾 way too early. Hope they kept the receipt!
