Thank you for making me so happy with your music
@880hz
! ☺️
Hard to imagine a more enjoyable & uplifting recital than what I experienced last night.
I am deeply inspired by your vision to create 🙌

Random insomniac thought at 5am: I really miss playing in Japan 🇯🇵
Can’t believe it was exactly 6 years ago since I was last there! Need to find a way to end this hiatus soon...
Sending love to all my dear Japanese friends today! 🙏🙏
1) What’s your favourite Scherzo by
#Chopin
? 🎶
2) Can anyone name the piece (and composer) that is showing on my iPad? 🧐
Thanks to Bussotti & Fabbrini Pianos in Firenze for having me! 🇮🇹

After all these years, it still blows my mind to think that I was ever a student at this wondrous place…
Just 3 more months until graduation. Forever grateful

Can you guess what the score is showing behind me? 🎹
A Happy New Year to you all! 🥂
The most innocent reaction to the tumultuous coda of Chopin’s 3rd Scherzo ever recorded 😂🥺
Gives this piece a whole other level of meaning, imo.

Thank you Tokyo! ❤️
Thank you Canada! ❤️
It was an absolute pleasure and an honour to be back in Japan for the first time in 7 years! Very sad to be leaving already after just 48 hours, but I hope to be back soon 🎶

In honour of Chopin’s birthday, I revisited parts of his Piano Concerto in E minor for the first time in several years. Hope it brings you some peace, and of course - happy birthday, Chopin 🥳

⁉️ Did you know that Tchaikovsky was a lawyer by trade, until the age of 21? 👨⚖️
Happy 182nd anniversary to the influential composer, as well as to his equally great counterpart — the legendary Johannes Brahms — who also celebrates today with 189 years of history! 🎶
The Queen of the Piano turns 80 today! 🎹
For as long as I can remember, you have always been my biggest inspiration in music. Your unparalleled virtuosity, fearless temperament, and artistic generosity in piano playing are just unbelievable...
Spending this year’s Christmas Eve with a bit more peace than usual, so what better than to sight read some of classical repertoire’s most popular hits? 😅
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it! 🎅🎄
Apparently Chopin was reluctant to publish his Fantasy Impromptu because of how (intentionally) reminiscent it was of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata.
How related do you think they are? 🎶
Happy 225 years to the great Franz
#Schubert
!
I haven’t played much of his works yet, but I hope to explore more of his music’s transcendental beauty (and tragedy) in upcoming years 🎶
Moscow, thank you for such a great and eye-opening experience! It was truly an honor to perform in the Great Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory, and I hope to be back soon! Ready for a new beginning... 🇷🇺

Working with so many talented kids in Southeast Asia these last two weeks got me reviewing some of my own piano videos from the distant past… 🙈😂😂
Guess how old (or young 😅) I was here?
A great honour to have been able to try out the special “Duecentisimo” by Fabbrini Pianoforti last week in Firenze… prepared for and currently on tour with Maestro Arcadi Volodos in Italy! 🇮🇹
Thank you for this memorable experience! 🙏
@SteinwayAndSons
Thanks so much to everyone for your birthday wishes! I really appreciate them all 😊
I finally got a chance to learn the

Ballade in G Minor btw!

Performing at the birthplace of Fryderyk Chopin is a special feeling. Thank you
@ChopinInstitute
for this sacred experience!
My very first attempt of Chopin’s Op. 28 was in Zelazowa Wola
@ChopinInstitute
two months ago after just a few weeks with the entire set 🇵🇱
Nearly 20 times later, I can say that playing this infamous B-flat minor prelude in public does not get any easier 😆
7 years ago today, I played in the 3rd stage of the 2015 Chopin Competition! Without a doubt one of the most consequential performances of my life to date.
Here’s a little throwback to my performance there of the 2nd sonata (age 16) ⬇️
Yesterday was the 272th anniversary of J. S. Bach’s death 🙏
Honouring the great composer with an excerpt from a performance of his jovial Prelude & Fugue in G major, Book I, back in 2019.
