I so wish Netflix starts to reconsider their model and give a theatrical run for some deserving titles. Not just a 2-3 theaters for award considerations but for people around the world to have an “event” opportunity in theaters. Even if it’s just one weekend.

Today marks 7th anniversary since Tonko House started this journey. Hard to believe, but I am now officially with Tonko longer than I was with Pixar. There were many moments we thought about quitting but we kept going thanks to our friends in the community. Thank you.

昨日ピクサーに何年振りかの凱旋訪問した時、10年以上も前に自分が描いたこの絵を思い出した。. 自分が映画作りを徹底的に学んだ場所。.会社が「目的地」じゃなくて「勉強する場所」だと言うことを教えてもらった。. トンコハウスも勉強の場として、皆のジャンプ台になるようなスタジオにしなければ。

まさに。. ディズニーをはじめとするアメリカのスタジオが手描きアニメからCGに移行したのは人材不足でもコスト削減でもありません。 当時アメリカには最高峰のアニメーターが沢山いましたし、CGになって予算は上がってます。CGもアニメーター達は人なので人件費は変わらないので。.(続く).
流れてきたやつ、好きなトピックでこれ。. ディズニーの場合どちらかというと「3D映画は売れる！」という上層部の舵取り、結果2Dの人も3Dを学ばないとという流れになり、逆に2Dの仕事をしたくてもないっていう時期があったのでアニメーターの確保の問題ではなくて、3Dが流行ったせいだったのでは→.

In the beginning of the project, #ONI was a 100% stop motion project. We made a bunch of stop motion test with @dwarf_inc and LOVED it. As scope of our story grew, we made a shift to CG but still tried to get the feel of stop motion as much as possible. #thundergodstale
