Interesting conversation had today with someone who thought kids being on computers/gaming was the Devil’s work. I can categorically say that gaming has got my 15-yr old and his mates through lockdown with far less damage than they might have had. And yep - he did his schoolwork.

The LFA is a decade old. Looks fresh-to-death to me. Just feels special: V10 that revs like a motorcycle to nearly 10k rpm (developed with Yamaha). Mostly carbon construction. Proper character. This is what I call a modern classic.

Went and had a little look around the Caterham Project V (‘velocity’ or ‘voltage’ - both work), for a vid. Really pleasing shape in person, pure electric, 268bhp / 0-62 in 4.5/ 140+. RWD. Super simple, really clean interior. Prob about £80k in early ‘26. 1/2…

This is my mum. She’s gorgeous, so not sure where I come from 😂. She’s also suffering from pretty bad Alzheimer’s - even though she looks ‘fine’. My Pops has a lot to cope with - and it’s a really rubbish disease. So big love to all the carers out there. We’ll cope. Xx

Had this the other week: the B7 RS4 Avant from Audi’s ‘heritage’ fleet. I remember driving them when they were launched, and boy, have they aged well. Feels so much less contrived than a lot of modern stuff, even if it was 2005 when they first came out! 1/2

As far as I can work out, because the Cybertruck is so heavy (3.5-tonne +) in some iterations, you’ll only be able to drive one on your normal licence if you have an old-person’s ticket (passed before Jan 1st 1997). 🤔

Some of you might know about this, but it's a honey. Ford Model 18 Ford Speedster made for Edsel Ford. Built back in 1932, flathead V8 (about 85bhp), one of three customs built for Edsel. I think it sold in 2016 for $770k, but I can't get over how modern and fresh it looks.

Forgot I went to see the secret (it’s been revealed now) MG Cyber GTS Concept the other week - essentially a Cyberster Coupe. But the ‘ster’ part of the name refers to ‘roadster’ so it’s just a Cyber GTS. Referred as RWD, but all Cyberster drivetrains would fit (obvs). Thoughts?

One of my favourite cars of the year: the stunt DB5 from the Bond movie. It looks perfect, is carbon-bodied and yet runs an E46 M3 underneath. Skinny Avon classic car tyres mean it never runs straight - and the slowest steering ever. Plus it’s got a hydraulic bar. 😂 loved it!

New M3 Touring has been handed out to every single journalist in the UK. So have to join the club. Disliked it immediately (I’m not a modern M3 fanboy), but get involved and it’s massively impressive - set up correctly (to your taste) and it works brilliantly. Not sure how many..

So this is a Bentley Continental GT S V8 Convertible. 4.0-litre biturbo V8 with 542bhp/568lb ft. AWD, active anti-roll bars. Just over 4 sec to 62mph, 198mph. £218k basic, though the carbon brakes are 13k and the stereo is 5,200… 🫣. Looks seem to divide opinion - OTT or 👌? 1/2

My reasons for Jimny-enthusiasm are:
Cheap (hopefully), small, easy to insure (modest engines/performance), chunky styling with character, easy to personalise, genuinely useful drivetrain. It’s a nice antidote to ‘bigger/faster/more’ thinking. I know many who would love it. 👌🏽

Lots of miles (road and track) in this new Alfa Romeo Guilia GTAm. Fast, fluid, fun. The best Alfa I think I’ve ever driven. Feels half a tonne lighter than its 1,500kg weight, so joyful, it’s makes your face hurt from smiling. Looks awesome, too. 😜 pics by Jonny Fleetwood 1/

Gullwing. The Merc 300SL Coupè. A legend since it was released in the mid 1950s. A 3.0 straight six with just 215bhp, a lot for the period. The keepers of this car allowed me out onto a banked track. I bottled it at 230+kph with more to come. But holy hell, what an experience. 🤪

This week, I’m trying the BMW i5 40 (the less powerful one). Rear-drive, 335bhp, 6 second 0-62. There’s an 81.2kWh battery and a possible 356miles of range (though it’s not showing that at 6-degrees). Starts at £71k (!). This is a ‘Brooklyn Grey’ M Sport Pro. Will dig into it…
