On YouTube, I'd highly recommend watching "The Bible Project" Summary of each book you're reading multiple times. The videos are typically 10-20 minutes and chocked full of insight and value.

Start with the Book of John, which is well suited for deep theological inquiry. The Book of John emphasizes Jesus as the unique manifestation of the Divine logos and Son of God. Once you're done with John, go through the other "Synoptic" Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke.

As language naturally evolves, so does the translation of The Bible. For clarity, I'd personally recommend the English Standard Version. As a bonus tip, I'd also recommend picking up the MacArthur Study Bible, as it provides historical, cultural, and linguistic context.

This is why I recommend the MacArthur Study Bible. It contextualizes the word with maps, historical facts, and information on how that text is hyperlinked to other Books of the Bible. The Bible is the original hyperlinked document. There are nearly 64,000 cross-references.
