Yesterday the defence sec said that the Yantar, a known Russian intelligence ship, was spotted passing through British waters. It's not the only Russian ship with military links to pass through UK waters since Feb 2022. With @Effy_Yeomans

Non-US Election News: A year ago @GeorgeGreenwood, @ltrgoddard and I reported that a UK semiconductor manufacturer, FTDI, bought by a Chinese state-owned entity had supplied chips to Russia - at least one ending up in a Russian Tank. On the back of our reporting, today the UK gov has forced FTDI's Chinese owners to sell their stake in the company due to concerns that the company's tech might be used in ways that are "contrary to UK national security".
