Without his phone to contact his parents, he would have sat in the loo all day. He felt ill last week and refused to attend because “they don’t let me home”

@lavidastoker @Helzbels Nan refused to wear a poppy when they were introduced as her husband was MIA in 1917, she was left with 3 children under 5, was refused assistance, hated Haig. Forbad all family members to wear one. She was forceful, so none ever did. I am 60 and donate - but still refuse poppy.

I’ve watched #Ambulance since it started. Seeing that poor lady on her way to hospital carrying the body of her miscarried baby aged 21 weeks in an orange bag , after losing baby’s twin at 6 weeks, is possibly the most harrowing case they have shown.

Spent weeks reading accounts of national assistance officers in 40’s-1960’s telling folk to sell their one item of furniture to qualify for help. The files left me reeling.

@StephenMcGann My Nan lost twins in 1923. They were placed in strangers coffins. Grandad took them to the undertaker in a shopping bag. My dad was 2 and didn’t find out about this until Nan died almost 60 years later. I have the undertaker’s receipts.

@KayWorboys I hope he recovers quickly. An oximeter is a good shout. Same thing happened to my boy in 2008. Uni nurse told him he had a uti. I told him to come home- by train, had no idea how bad he would be. Our GP saw him the next morning and he was admitted for 3 days, lobar pneumonia.

People went on holiday this weekend without a postal vote, will be out of the country for a fortnight. It’s a complete farce, and hard to shake the suspicion by design.
