And then they went on 60 Minutes where most of the audience of over 50 white and mostly Democrats and independents. Maybe they're smarter than all those reporters think they are.
The Superintendent of Public Instruction has been a Republican for eight years and a Republican legislature has overseen public school budgets for 13 years. If public education is broken, it's the GOP's fault.

@matthewjdowd
What the campaign should really be doing right now is building an army of communications people who can push back on reporters when they start repeating GOP distortions and focusing too much on the new candidate and not enough old the old guy.
In the Democratic Primary in North Carolina, I’m back to where I started. I’ll support

He didn’t just block judges, he blocked a myriad of Obama appointees in an attempt to make government dysfunctional. Nobody has destroyed norms like Mitch.
Mo Green was superintendent of the 3rd largest school system in NC, CEO and Dep. Sup. of Char.-Meck Schools, head of ZSR. Two kids who went to NC public schools. Clerked under respected fed. judges. Widely recognized as leader in education. 1/
My enthusiasm for Biden surprises even me, because, like a lot of political observers, I have long been skeptical of “Uncle Joe.”
But I now believe he is the right man to lead America at one of the most perilous moments in our history.

Again: Time to press GOP Senators on Intel Committee on this. They investigated this matter (among other things) for *3 years,* as explained here:
Rep. Dan Bishop is pretending to be a right-winger and Lt. Governor Mark Robinson is pretending to be a moderate. Neither has any core values. They're what Trump has done to the party.

Wait, wait, wait. So .

thinks that the term “curb someone” is normal? No one thinks it’s at all strange that they’re using the term curb? I mean, does the average person use the word “curb” for saying “keep in check”?

@Taniel
I think they don't have enough money to play in all three states. They are trying to keep all seven close to keep options open before they start moving money around for final buys. They won NC four years ago so they hope it stays close on its own. So far, they're right.
If Democrats are as successful taking away gas stoves as they have been taking away guns, there will be more gas stoves than there are people in just a few years.
Mitch McConnell: "Why would any legislature in America want to overturn the counting of votes? ... The notion that some state legislature would be crazy enough to say to their own voters—'We're not gonna honor the outcome of an election'—is ridiculous."

Worth a read this morning.
Never be the guy who says “How many divisions does the Pope have?”
And guys like this wonder why Christians look at their party and go, "even Trump is better than this."
Michele Morrow homeschooled her kids, lost a race for Wake County school board, called for Obama to be publicly executed, and called public schools socialist indoctrination centers. That's the difference, Dallas. 2/
Before the tax cuts, we led our neighbors in job growth, now we trail them. Personal income growth has increased at a slower rate and we now trail the region. Finally, our economic growth significantly trails GA and SC. Before the GOP tax cuts, we led them. “Tax climate” is BS.
North Carolina had one of the worst business tax climates in the nation only 8 years ago, ranked 44. Reforms enacted since then have seen NC improve to
#10
and the tax cuts in the new budget brings NC to
#5
. Impressive progress

The media is so obsessed because the guy who runs a Christian college and railed about how homosexuality is destroying marriage watched a pool boy having sex with his wife. It’s not complicated.
North Carolina has counted every ballot it had in its possession as of Tuesday. Trump leads by 76,737 votes among them. About 117,000 mail-in ballots and 40,766 provisional ballots are potentially outstanding. Mail-in ballots have until Nov. 12 to arrive.
You don't get to simultaneously claim that Republicans are suppressing minority votes in order to shift voting patterns, and also that anyone who claims that demographics affect voting patterns is a progenitor of the Great Replacement Theory.
Madison Cawthorn crashed the Buncombe, NC School Board meeting tonight and berated the members for passing a mask mandate: “You have sacrificed the social, emotional, and psychological development of our children on the altar of wokeness.”
North Carolina Republicans inherited a state with a fully developed modern infrastructure that was a national economic powerhouse. They didn't build anything.

Given those margins, you could also argue that if 18-29 year olds had shown up at the rate of the country as a whole, Democrats would be controlling Congress and might well have won the Senate seat in Wisconsin. Just sayin'.

Must say, I’m not really into this whole argument but I find a Harvard PhD defending a Stanford professor by criticizing elites on Twitter pretty funny.
Republicans in North Carolina got used to veto-proof majorities. Failing to negotiate a budget is failing to do their jobs. In the minds of voters, that could be a firing offense.
