@emceekhan @mcdizzle17 It’s almost as if Grummz never had any real skills and just leveraged his team’s talent to climb the ladder. But in reality he’s been laid off or fired at every job and hasn’t delivered a single thing on this own. How can anyone take him seriously?

@elonmusk Didn’t you stand up on television and tell the public you were going to be transparent? Where is this so called transparency with this data?

Been mentoring a few folks at work on SQL, Python and basic concepts of data modeling. Which so far I think is going pretty well. Then today a mentee asked me about git. Oh boy are they in for some “fun times” ahead 🤣

@SirManGuyXI @melqtx I use Python/SQL with data all the time. It has its flaws, but combined you can do so much with data with these two languages. I also had AS/400 boxes at my gov job back in the day, but also we had a ton of SQL servers too.

@SirManGuyXI @capn_morgan_eq @melqtx It for sure had its place and likely still does have a place, but also orgs have so many more database options today then we did back when DB2 was like the cream of the crop so to speak. It isn't bad per se, but I feel it is legacy tech

@Grummz Not really. They were told many years ago those things weren’t for them. So they went out & got skills/jobs in those areas to make those things. Why don’t you go make your game and let the free market decide? They did it, they’re making games now. Maybe you should make a game?

@_jameshatfield_ @WholeMarsBlog How much does it cost to train a model? That doesn’t exist today and LLMs still hallucinate. I’m with you that we should invest in this tech, but that doesn’t help us today. Unless there’s something in the AI space I’ve missed

@_jameshatfield_ @WholeMarsBlog Have you ever tried to code digital scans to documents? It’s actually pretty complicated and with big margins of error. There would likely be manual data entry on a good chunk of it. Which comes w/ its own problems

@WholeMarsBlog How do you think we got here? Every time anyone has tried to improve gov tech/infra it doesn’t pass house budget or legislative branch policy. We could 100% fix the DMV UX but the gov doesn’t want to spend $billions on modernization. This shouldn’t shock anyone

@cfnine @melqtx No why would I or anyone assume that? That data likely goes through a plethora of distributed systems. When I say “distributed,” I mean by limitation not by design
