StoryProtocol - a review of a project that cares about the creators. 🧵Recently there are very few truly innovative and most importantly needed projects in #web3. @StoryProtocol is just such a project, which we will talk about today. ➡️ Let's start with the fact that @StoryProtocol is a L1 blockchain. Story is based on Intellectual Property (IP) - remember this acronym. Story makes it possible to monetize, remix, and most importantly, license the IP on terms set by the content creator themselves. Does that sound cool? Agreed. Let's move on to some theses that will fully form your vision of the prospects and value of the project. ➡️ Let's first focus again on IP. What is an IP in simple words. I'll give you some examples. The music that's playing in your headphones. Let's say it's Scorpions - Still Loving You - that's IP. A water video you've made about, say, nature is IP. Any cartoon or television character (Winnie the Pooh, Mickey Mouse, Terminator, Iron Man) - IP, screens from your favorite game or stream record - IP. Now let's move on to the next question - and why do you need IP? ➡️ First we need to mention the problem that most content creators face, namely with illegal copying and use without receiving the creator of monetization. Agree, this situation is not uncommon. Nowadays, to “secure” your creativity you need to use the traditional legal system, namely hire lawyers, draw up contracts/patents and it is extremely expensive and takes a lot of time. Also, another problem is that the AI is trained on licensed materials, which, of course, does not encourage the creators and owners of this content. So how to solve these impressive problems? Story offers an ingenious and at the same time simple and effective solution. Let's dwell on the most important components of the project, which together form a powerful tool that is designed to solve the problems described above. 🔷 1) As I mentioned above, the Story Protocol is a Tier 1 blockchain. It is fast, cost-effective, and provides everything needed to handle complex and energy-intensive structures, such as the IP. Story Protocol is based on the best of the EVM and Cosmos ecosystems. Yes, you heard right. Story Protocol is fully compatible with any EVM solution, which opens up truly fantastic opportunities. In fact, everything in the industry right now is already de facto compatible with Story. 🔷 2) Story has a “Proof of Creativity” protocol. It allows any creator to connect to Story's network and register their IPs (IP Assets (IPA)) quickly and at no significant cost. Each IPA consists of : 🔹a.Onchain NFT. This can be a NFT from existing collections, or a brand new NFT that is designed to represent, for example, your store where you sell farm milk. Or for your art gallery, or maybe you're into photography and decide to stamp your images. 🔹b.The account from which the IP was created. The account is a modification of ERC-6551 (an account tied to a token). Although the created asset is in the project chain, there is a legal contract (programmable IP license, for short - PIL) that allows the creator to dispose of his asset for the purpose of monetization or providing other people (companies) to use his creation. 🗨️To summarize a little, we can say with certainty that the idea and concept of Story Protocol are incredibly in demand.
