@bradympowers @OutputSports I get it. I choose to pay for mine out of pocket because it saves me an unbelievable amount of time and the value I get out of the software is unmatched.

@ckstevenson @OzarkStrength I think it’s wayyy deeper than learning. I’ve had kids in these kinds of scenarios credit me and other coaches for saving their lives, keeping them out of prison, graduating HS. That’s why it matters way more than grades.

@BrandonHerring0 I get it and I think it’s great you put in that kind of effort. Judging by the replies to Tyler’s original post, your answer is actually an unpopular one as many don’t seem that interested in making an effort.

@coach_mel_redd @BrandonHerring0 Hahahaha this is the kind of feedback I need. I had a college baseball kid recommend like 6 books for me in his end of year assessment of me. All 6 were on my bookshelf behind my desk.

In my opinion and experience, you keep trying. They may never meet the standards you’ve set but to me, the standards we hold ourselves to as coaches regarding our responsibility for reaching the kids who need us the most is more important than the standards we try to hold kids to. It all comes back to what you feel your purpose is, and my purpose has always been to coach the kids who need it just as much if not more than the kids who want it. I also think that’s what real mental toughness looks like from a coaching perspective.

@BrandonHerring0 What if the trouble making is actually them asking for help but not knowing how?
