Brother. You're not serious right now. You send me these screenshots right after telling me that the Syriac Orthodox Church is our counterpart? And if your interpretation of the content is "the Maronite Church made the Syriac Catholic Church", then I strongly recommend you change your current approach for how you read history. I'll leave it at that. Pray for me brother, and I'll pray for you. Cheers.

@efremoyo Explain what? Please provide the context. Where do we commemorate them? Where are they referenced, or better yet, where is their heretical teaching reflected in our liturgy?

Again, this is blatantly incorrect. There are serious inconsistencies in your history. I recommend reviewing before sharing such inaccurate conclusions online. Again, the Maronite Catholic Church does not have an Orthodox counterpart. I recommend going back to the source. Saint Maron, his disciples, and what ensued afterward up until the Council of Chalcedon in 451.

@efremoyo That is blatantly incorrect. The Syriac Orthodox Church is the counterpart to the Syriac Catholic Church. The Maronites do NOT have an Orthodox counterpart. Academia agrees on this.

One must simply analyze the chronological order of things and will see that there is NO reason for the Maronites to apostatize during the age of "non-contact". Another good argument is, and possibly the best I've heard, why do the Maronites not have a counterpart among the Orthodox Churches? Surely some sort of movement would have been born after contact was re-established.

@efremoyo Losing contact does not mean schism, or out of communion. Throughout those centuries of lost contact, the Maronites stayed true to the Catholic faith.

@obiectus I think tomorrow is the day to check it out! Why? Because tomorrow is the feast day of Saint Maron. Pope Benedict XIV granted any Catholic an indulgence if they visit a Maronite Church on the feast of St. Maron, which takes place every year on February 9th.
